When talking about Freeform, I'm assuming you're actually talking about ABC Family and not the over-the-air American Broadcasting Company network. Speaking of Freeform: I remember when that channel was called "Fox Family"-I saw numerous promos about it on Fox Kids back in the late 1990s (Fox/NewsCorp had acquired what was once The Family Channel from Pat Robertson/IFE* in 1998.)
*N.B.: The reason why Freeform and the previous names the channel went by runs The 700 Club daily is because of a clause in the initial sale contract that CBN put in when The Family Channel was sold to Fox, giving the channel a perpetual contract to run CBN programs including The 700 Club, which carried over when Fox sold Fox Family to ABC. This also means that 700 Club will remain for as long as the channel exists, no matter who owns it or whatever it's named in the future.
I remember my immediate area getting phone service from GTE (General Telephone), which then merged with the aforementioned Bell Atlantic to form Verizon. Eventually, in 2010 Verizon sold my state and 12 others to Frontier. I was stuck on calling the service "Verizon" for a bit of time after that sale was completed. (Speaking of Frontier, they also took over Florida, California, and Texas from Verizon as of today-thought I'd make note of this.)I remember back quite a few years ago, New Jersey Bell became Bell Atlantic, which then became Verizon not too long after. Took a little getting used to, but it wasn't too bad.
