I agree, there's something about the lineless approach that really tickles my fancy.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm pretty sure I spent over a good half hour on that thing. xD

I saw Fate's artwork and I decided because of how stupid XAT is (like, really, who can draw using that?) it's much easier to forget the lines and focus on block colours. So I think basic colours plus a shade or two - if you can be bothered - works wonders. Anything you screw up you can easily go in and tidy up after.

I'll admit, I tried drawing my favorite Water-type, Azumarill, and failed miserably. And I thought, "How could I fail at something so simple?! I drew an Aurorus for god's sake..." And then I thought, we have to go simpler! Therefore, I drew Luvdisc. "How hard could it be," I thought. "I can't possibly mess this up," I thought. As it turns out, no matter how simple, I still can't draw LOL. Anyway:
