    Glad that's gone!

In our lifetimes, we've seen many things come and go. Sometimes they're things we don't want to go away, but there's others that we are glad are no longer around.

What things from your past are you glad are no longer around?

Compared to my thread of things I want brought back, there's only a few things that I'm glad are gone today. One of these is constantly getting AOL CD-ROMs in the mail, including the one pictured above. Like us getting an AOL disc at some random point out of the blue in the mail was going to convince my mom to sign up for dial-up service that cost over $20 a month, and until 2001, at a time when we didn't have a computer capable of using the Internet.

This was especially hard to do if you happened to screw around as a kid and poke things into the holes that held the tape... Then you had flatten it all out and stuff it back in. Of course, that was mainly my parent's job. >u>

Yeah, I definitely DO NOT MISS dial-up internet connections. Or rewinding VHS tapes.

I sure don't miss ordering from catalogs either. Buying everything online is so many times better. Not to mention there's way more stuff for sale and you can easily shop internationally also.

Outdoor toilets where you went in a pan and every day the pan man would come and collect it and replace the pan. Like that has to be the worst job ever seriously.

Okay... so they're not in my lifetime but my mum has told me stories of when she first got to Australia as a little kid and her family freaked out cos they didn't have flushing toilets here. XD

I am a nostalgic person so I miss everything even rewinding video tapes. Boohoo.
