What'd I miss? Anyone die?
Pretty sure we're all still alive and kickin'.
Yeah I'm trying mostly for work experience but also to have some money to spend and put towards tuition and such.
Well I finished the story I was working on last night and it turned out quite well in my opinion. Originally an entire solar system was going to be destroyed and I had a major plot hole as to why a being of mass amounts of power was following the orders of a semi-normal human. In this version, only a few people died and I fixed that plot hole plus left it somewhat open for potential usage in a future story.Originally Posted by Neo Emolga
Now I'm working on rewriting the origin story of one of my characters. I didn't really like the way it was going originally, and schematically it just didn't work. Plus I didn't really like the direction it was headed and I was forcing myself to write it. So I'm restarting it with a somewhat different direction. I'm a little disappointed because the way the timeline works, the guy is just short of the big cholera outbreaks in London, but he has to die by 1888 and I want him to die when he's 21 which means he has to be born in 1867. Either way, cholera still would have been an issue because it wasn't until 1902 that London took over all the water sources.
Dang, that sounds like a heck of a background storyline. But yeah, maybe a whole solar system getting blown up might be a little excessive. But then again, I've seen much worse. I guess it kind of depends on what sort of things build up to that.
Originally, I didn't intend for Wildcaster to have a sequel. Heck, I was happy I managed to come up with a decent ending for it when originally, it kept dragging on without any clear direction. And I think that might be the problem. I've been indecisive about what I want to do with the main character and his friends. I think I've hit the mid-way point where unless I figure out how I want the ending to go RIGHT NOW, I might as well stop because otherwise I'm just going to keep pushing forward, rewinding, pushing forward, rewinding, over and over again.
Well, to be fair, the story was originally being written when I was under high stress so I tend to take out my wrath in writing. So that's why. I wasn't as high strung while rewriting it so it had a much more peaceful tone.
Yeah this is more of a prequel than anything else. I've written two other stories centering around this character, but never really given a true explanation for his actions in either, so that's what this is for.
It is time for me to pokeman, so i shall start...after eating a bag of doritos
