Sorta, but I'd like to see a full-fledged game with that kind of mechanic going.

Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain had that kind of thing going, and I'd like to see a PMD game deploy that same kind of concept. It would definitely be quite intriguing and fun. :3

PMD Sky is my favourite. <3 I'm still hoping for another game to be made soon. Why, oh why, are they so much better than the main series? xD

It's the amount of time spent on them. They pump out a main series game practically every year whereas the side games are every three to four years so they have a lot more time to work on the side games.

The story. They dedicate everything to making an interesting, funny, action-ish, and dramatic story. Can't forget the interesting, adorable, and funny characters xD. Then the soundtrack to go with it. It's amazing! It could bring a tear to anyone's eye. Such s combination is rare to see. The main series could learn from it. Recently it seems they have too. Stories have been a bit more in-depth and even some tracks have sounded vaguely similar the a PMDesque style.

I think maybe they got some of the PMD people to work on the main series games.

THIS. PMD games know exactly how to hit you full-on with the feels. Everything from the storyline, the settings, the music, the mystery behind everything that goes on all comes together to form such a brilliant game series.

Seriously, they should have had a whole spin off season with those. Not just single episodes! Ugh. They were good though. Seemed odd to hear Pokemon talk at first, but it quickly felt normal.
