    We don't discuss those.

As a Transformers _comic_ fan, the moves absolutely disgust me.

The comics (particularly MTMTE/LL) prove that the franchise is MORE than capable of having REALLY good storytelling and making you cry over sad robots. </3 It makes me angry that this potential is completely wasted in the movies. I mean, I can appreciate the effects... but fancy effects do not make a story.

Seriously. I'll never stop encouraging people to pick up MTMTE. Beautifully written with impeccable art (when the main artist is working, anyway. I throw fits when others fill in for a month or two.)

Yeah honestly I've never been a huge mechs person. Like, giant robots are awesome and all, but I'm more of a fantasy gal myself, so I could never really pick of the franchise. Maybe one day.

See, I'm the same way. Never cared for robot/sci-fi stuff in the past. I've ALWAYS been a fantasy person (see: All the dragons I draw)- but I was convinced to give MTMTE a chance and well... I was surprised by how much I loved the series- it's a very character-driven story. It's probably one of the best comics I've read- if not the best. I've never been so invested in a story before. It's weird. It's got that perfect blend of character and plot, serious and fun, emotional and action-y.

I say the only hard part of it was when I first started reading it took a while to get used to telling bots apart- but once I got the hang of it, it was easy.

Yeah the other main problem is time. I barely have the time to read the comics I do. I don't want to lump anymore on right now.

Yeeeahh. It does take a while to catch up at this point. I know that there are 'jumping on' points that are meant for new readers to come on without needing to read EVERYTHING before, but you know... it's still best to start at the very beginning of the series. Season 3 started last month under a new name 'Lost Light' - so the latest jumping on point is only one issue ago (#2 has been delayed and I'm dying here). Still...

Give it a shot one of these days when you've got the time! I would say 'Read one issue a week!' but I couldn't do that with anything. Especially if cliffhangers happen. Which they do. I swear IDW loves to delay issues right after cliffhangers. >.> IT'S TORTURE.

Another note on the whole mech/robot thing. The way the characters are written you tend to forget they're robots. You know, until robot-specific problems/situations pop up and it's like 'Oh right... '

Honestly every pokemon comic I read I tend to forget they're pokemon half the time, if that makes sense.

You would hope so. MTMTE is a comic about people who happen to be robots, if that makes sense? Just like Pokemon comics, they behave in a way that we can relate to- but with their own unique elements such as how Pokemon can fight/have abilities, etc. that shape their society and world. =D Some people think it's bad that characters feel 'human', but if you don't have anything to make the audience relate, then they won't care about the characters- and you don't want that. If the audience cares about the characters, then they care THAT much more for the plot because it effects their favorites.
