This probably isn't the place for politics. There's a section on the forum specifically for serious discussion on controversial topics- debate section or whatever.

The controversial nature of politics can quickly kill the mood of a thread like this.

You act as if I don't know that. Again, it's my livelihood. But I'm not going to make a whole thread to discuss the wall. I just found it amusing that it was actually happening.

And if it kills this thread then I win soooo

Neko does have a point. At least here in this thread. If there were a literal politics section I'd say maybe there, but there's not. So Other Chat and a specified thread might be better so others that don't like it can avoid it....

There is indeed an area of the forum where political discussions/debates are allowed.

Do keep in mind there are people with differing opinions who may not want to see their views attacked in this kind of thread just as you wouldn't like yours. You can unintentionally alienate people like this- and I wouldn't consider it a good way to win this game. =/ In threads meant for discussing these things, fine- but here? A lot of people are already sick of politics and don't want to see it in what's supposed to be a fun thread. If people want to discuss politics, they'll find a political thread for it.

See this is the reason why I emphasized it's my livelihood. I KNOW THIS. It was meant to be a two second tidbit not a full on discussion. Jesus Christ. Take your own advice and understand that I have different views than you. Politics is fun and amusing to me and I thought people would think it amusing too. Fine you wanna burn me at the stake? Go for it.

I asked you to please not bring in politics. You defended it saying it was your livelihood. I pointed out there's a place on PXR specifically for more controversial topics. You say you're not going to make a thread for it and that if it helps you win this game, yay.

I'm gonna put a pin in not for most point but I want to say that it wasn't meant to be political at all. It's something I found funny and amusing that I wanted to share with friends. It wasn't meant to start any sort of argument. If it was, I'd start a thread. This thread is meant for funny and amusing discussions, and as there have been discussions in the past that I didn't enjoy, there's going to be ones that others won't enjoy. They can just not post like I did.

I get not everyone enjoys politics but don't get your panties in a twist over someone else's enjoyment. You're arguing with me for no reason and that makes you a sophist.

Oh, it's fine. I was honestly expecting these. Harry Potter got hit with NINE of these things before it got published, so me nailing it on the first try would have been some kind of miracle. Many famous authors have done silly and crazy things with their rejection letters, like building sculptures with them and stuff like that. I decided to go for paper cranes. And while this one came out a little goofy, hey, it at least got there!

Also, just know that I am TOTALLY ROOTING FOR ATLANTA FALCONS ALL THE WAY. If the Patriots win the Super Bowl... I'm going to set a football on fire.

I told you about Jay Asher right? He's the author of Thirteen Reasons Why. He got rejected thirteen times before he succeeded and then laughed about it later when he realized it because it made total sense. He also categorized them like break up responses.

SAME. Ugh though since I'm rushing for sororities again I have to act like I want the Patriots to win (freaking Thetas don't know what they're talking about) but deep down I'm a Falcons girl.
