Best thing about being an adult is that you can combine your childlike wonder and passions with things (i.e. dirty jokes and other abstract thoughts that never would have occurred to you as a child because undeveloped frontal lobe) that you...picked up as an adult
This is true. When you think about it, watching sports, which is something plenty of adults do, could be considered "childish" with the same mindset, but it's only seen as okay because most of society has just learned to accept it.

A lot of the things today would have seemed "nerdy" some time ago. Star Wars movies, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings might have seemed "nerdy" but that connotation was shoveled out when it turned out most people like those things anyway.

One thing I realize is that when I was a kid, I had more time, but less money. As an adult, you have more money, but less time. Wouldn't it be cool if you could wire-transfer like $2000 to your kid self to go all out? That would have rocked my childhood. XD

I think as you grow older, especially our generation, you carry what you enjoyed in your childhood with you into your adulthood - to a lesser degree, of course. I know plenty of individuals whom are adult that have no issue claiming their love for anime, video games, movies that would label you a "nerd", etc.

I thought when I grew older, I'd have to give up things like video games and settle down with more "adult" things. Psh... screw that.

Also, this is a really amazing TED talk by Adam Savage:

This guy totally gets it and I wish everyone did.

I thought I'd have to give it up too! To hell with that. As long as I'm handling my priorities, I'm going to do what I love to do during my free time.

I'll check out the TED Talk when I get the chance!
