See, that would be way more fitting to have an Eevee dating another Eevee than having a human dating an Eevee. It's actually less weird that way.

The big downside to those kinds of costumes is that you have very limited mobility, and they get hot very easily, though that may not be such a problem in colder climates.

Mobility usually isn't too much of an issue as long as you're not expecting to do gymnastics and parkour with it on (although that would be funny in itself). The real other issue besides heat is visibility.

Maybe that's what they're gonna do? give you your own Pokemon costume to wear? That way it can be two Pokes dating. It doesn't necessarily have to be an Eevee costume either. The winner could dress as Pikachu or Mimikyu or Lucario or whatever.

Sounds like they're expecting you to just show up as is. Though a Pikachu and Eevee date would be classic as well.

Oh yeah, that Eevee costume is HUGE because unlike traditional mascot costumes, it seems they made the head big to keep the proportions akin to Eevee's character design. They do the same thing with the Pikachu ones and those are huge too. But yeah, I can imagine those being a very crazy and amusing challenge to work with when it comes to moving around and getting through doorways.
