Yeah, I understand that. I had to take summer classes back when I was in college just to be sure I graduated on time.
I'll try to help push things get started sooner than later, but I don't think it'll be a problem. Maybe this weekend we could start PXFIRE Leader applications and possibly allow teams to start being created. Seems like people have some good ideas floating about for teams and such.

I'm sure it'll be interesting this year. That's for sure

As much fun as it is to make teams, I'm leaning more on joining someone else's. As I might have mentioned, doing section judging, leading a team, and managing PXFIRE development and handling all in one year is a heavy load to try and manage. I just can't do all three without getting too overwhelmed.
As for what section to judge, ooh, that I'm not sure. I did RP last year and that was fun, but I think letting someone else have a go at it might be good, even though I do have a great idea for an RP plot just in case.
I've kinda always wanted to start a team. I've felt like no one would like to join it :3
I think it's also a part of the fact I don't usually join many events. Even when I did I didn't really participate as much. Though I'm still hoping to create a true Pika themed forum skin one day. I tried making one awhile back with Gemma. That didn't get far though. Not long after she got sick and didn't have time or feel well enough to help. I feel odd trying it myself too.

Give it a try! Worst case scenario, nothing happens and you join someone else's. Nothing to lose, really.
Though you may want to compromise and make a team that you feel both you and others would enjoy. Sure, you could make a Pikachu-themed team, but that might narrow down potential interested candidates and might make it too selective. You might fare better focusing on something a little more broader and open, such as electric types or something along those lines.
If I was making a team, I would! You rock at writing and art, why wouldn't people want you!? :O
