7 Star Hisuian Decidueye Raid Guide!

Hisuian Decidueye
Ready to take on the owl?

Hisuian Decidueye is coming back this weekend in 7 Star Raids from October 12th to 15th. It will be sporting the Grass Tera Type. And if this raid seems hard then we have a helpful Raid Guide for you to look at!

The Typical Hisuian Decidueye Raid

Below is how the typical Hisuian Decidueye Raid tends to go.

  1. Opens with an attack
  2. Uses Bulk Up
  3. Clears Buffs on Your Pokemon (After Turn 2)
  4. Puts up Tera Shield
  5. Removes negative effects on itself (After Turn 4 or down a certain percent of HP)
  6. Swords Dance
  7. Leaf Storm
  8. Double attacking turns

Hisuian Decidueye mostly uses Physical attacks. It will also focus more on its Physical Defense as well. So that means you want to use a lot of Special Attacks to do heavy damage.

And based on the typical raid, you want to focus on debuffing Hisuian Decidueye early in the raid. Once that third turn has passed, you can focus on buffing up your own Pokemon.

Pokemon to Bring

Need some Pokemon to bring for your Hisuian Decidueye Raids? Then take a look at some of these amazing Pokemon to bring. You will want to focus on bringing Poison Pokemon here to prey on Hisuian Decidueye’s Grass weakness. Do not bring Flying Pokemon! More on that later.

Iron Moth
Iron Moth
If you want to just focus on attacking then Iron Moth is the Pokemon you want to bring.

Open the Raid with Lunge. That way Hisuian Decidueye will have a lower Attack. Especially as it starts to use Bulk Up. Hisuian Decidueye will now be playing catch up. I would recommend using two Lunge attacks to help lower the damage output of Hisuian Decidueye. This will help you tank more attacks later in the raid.

From there you will want to use Acid Spray to lower Hisuian Decidueye’s Special Defense. By this point in the Raid, Hisuian Decidueye would have cleared any negative effects on it. Still, once you have used Acid Spray, Hisuian Decidueye’s Special Defense would be lower. That way you can hit a little harder with Fiery Dance. Especially after you Terastallizes to change your type to Fire.

Armarouge
Armarouge
You want to follow a similar plan that you did with Iron Moth. Though, you will play a bit of a supportive role here. Open up with Reflect so that way you will take less damage from Hisuian Decidueye. From there you will want to Acid Spray a few times and follow up with Lava Plume. If you do this then your Lava Plume will do more damage. That is thanks to the lower Special Defense on Hisuian Decidueye from your Acid Spray. The use of Lava Plume will also give you the chance to apply a Burn on Hisuian Decidueye once it hides behind the Tera Shield. The Burn will cut Hisuian Decidueye’s Attack power.

Charjabug
Charjabug
You may think that Charjabug is a joke. Especially because Hisuian Decidueye will be packing Brave Bird. Though, that is a nonissue because Charjabug’s Electric typing will negate that weakness.

Charjabug is here as a Supportive pick. It will not do heavy damage but will live for the whole raid if used correctly.

You will want to first start off with Lunge. That way Hisuian Decidueye’s Attack power will be dropped. So those Leaf Blade and Brave Bird attacks will be doing little damage after three Lunge attacks.

You will want to then use Iron Defense after Hisuian Decidueye clears the buffs on your Pokemon. That way you can tank hits much better. Especially after Hisuian Decidueye starts to use Bulk Up and Swords Dance.

Once you have used Iron Defense twice then you can just Lunge for the rest of the Raid. Eventually Hisuian Decidueye will be doing little damage to you as your raid mates do all the damage to it.

All of your Raid Mates will want to throw up a Heal Cheer during the raid. Though, if you want to use Charjabug then it will be your job to throw out at least two Heal Cheers. The best time to do this will be either before or after you use Iron Defense. Throw a Heal Cheer later in the Raid to ensure your Raid Team stays healthy. Though, keep an eye on your Raid Team in the first three turns in case you need to throw out a Heal Cheer early.

If you want EV and Movesets for these Pokemon then I will suggest It’s Super Effective video as a good guide to build your Pokemon.

What NOT to Bring

Need to know what not to consider for your Hisuian Decidueye raid. Or perhaps you are doing random raids and need to know which raids to avoid upon seeing certain Pokemon?

Skeledirge
Skeledirge
Don’t. Just don’t.

You may be tempted to bring your Skeledirge due to it being Fire typing and can take no damage from the Fighting type attack Triple Arrows. The idea of constantly raising your Special Attack with Torch Song will even sound like a great idea. That way your Fire attacks will do even more damage after you Terastallize and use your stronger Fire attacks.

The problem is that Hisuian Decidueye has the Scrappy ability. That means your Skeledirge is taking those Fighting attacks to the face.

Also, don’t forget that Hisuian Decidueye has access to Shadow Claw during the raid. So your Skeledirge is going to get hit with plenty of Shadow Claw. And if there is nobody in your raid that will lower or clear Hisuian Decidueye’s Attack power then after a Swords Dance, Skeledirge is going to be going down fast.

Charizard

NO.

Iron Hands
Why.

No.

Ceruledge
Ceruledge
You may think Ceruledge would be a good idea. Even I think it is but when you sit down and think about it…It is a really risky play.

It is the same issue that Skeledirge has. A few Shadow Claw attacks from Hisuian Decidueye is going to tear your Ceruledge down really fast.

Bitter Blade will help you do heavy damage and heal up damage. The problem is that Hisuian Decidueye is strong on the defensive side. Especially after a Bulk Up.

Clear Smog could help remove the buffs that Hisuian Decidueye will give itself. Though, I never saw Ceruledge actually lasting in the raid. Or use Clear Smog when it actually mattered.

Corviknight
Corviknight
The problem with this pick is similar to Ceruledge. It may be able to resist a lot of Hisuian Decidueye’s attacks. The problem is that Corviknight doesn’t have to attack power to make real progress in the raid.

If you want to bring Corviknight to the raid then you will need to play it as a supportive build. You will want to set up the Reflect to lower Hisuian Decidueye’s damage output.

Use Taunt during the first and fourth turn of the raid to prevent the Bulk Up and Swords Dance.

Throw out Heal Cheers so your teammates’ Pokemon can stay healthy during the raid.

Perhaps you can use your own Bulk Up to raise your Attack and Defense. Then follow that up with Drill Peck. Though, your damage output will be much less compared to your teammates’s Special Attackers. And they would appreciate it if you just stay on the Supportive side with Heal Cheers.

Still, you are not going to be doing much in the damage category. And that is why Corviknight is here under “Do NOT Bring”. Only bring if you plan to be a supportive player in the raid.

Basic Plan of Attack

If you want a basic idea of what you do in Hisuian Decidueye Raids then here you go.

  1. Throw out Debuffs
  2. Wait until after Turn Two when Hisuian Decidueye clears up buffs on your Pokemon to raise the status on your Pokemon.
  3. When Tera Shield goes up, start lowering Hisuian Decidueye’s Attack stat for two turns.
  4. ATTACK!

Summary

If you want to see success during this weekend’s Hisuian Decidueye raids then follow the advice in this Raid Guide. Any combination of the suggested Pokemon will lead you to victory if you use them the correct way. Anything else is just a risk that will lead to frustration.

Best of luck in the second round of Hisuian Decidueye raids!
