Want to go back in time to the Pokemon Center in New York?
Well, we don’t have a time machine to the year 2002 but we do want to share an interview! Today we want to spotlight an interview that Johto Times has had with the General Manager for Pokemon USA, Dave Hillenbrand!
Dave Hillenbrand was the General Manager for Pokemon USA from May 2001 to November 2002. Though, you may be wondering why I mention the Pokemon Center in New York. That is because Hillenbrand was the mind behind the creation of the Pokemon Center NY.
From District Manager for Blockbuster to an empty conference room with Pokemon. Hillenbrand drew up the plans for the Pokemon Center and ensured that it opened just in time for Christmas. Even amidst of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks to working directly with Pokemon in Japan.
Below is a snippet from Johto Times’ interview with Hillenbrand. Here, JT asked about what it was like working with the 100 employees that worked at PCNY.
