Masuda’s Thoughts on Connecting to Let’s Go

Pokemon 2019
It sounds like Masuda has some thoughts on connecting Let’s Go to Pokemon’s 2019 title.

Famitsu will be publishing an interview with Junichi Masuda. They covered a few topics with some involving Pokemon’s future on the Switch. Recently some tidbits from Masuda regarding what they are thinking about when it comes to Pokemon’s 2019 game.

In the interview, Masuda was asked if players will be able to transfer Pokemon from Let’s Go into the 2019 games. Below is his response.

“There have been times where you couldn’t bring Pokemon over from previous titles – I imagine that created some bad memories. I want to try and change that, if I can.”

It sounds like Masuda is referring to the inability to bring up Pokemon from Gernation 2 to Generation 3. The inability to transfer Pokemon from Gold & Silver to Ruby & Sapphire did create many negative responses from Pokemon fans at the time. It was one of the driving factors for the creation for Pokemon Bank.

Will there be a way to transfer Pokemon from Let’s Go into the 2019 title? It will satisfy those who are coming from Pokemon GO who wish to play but Let’s Go and the future Pokemon title. It would also make those who raised up great Pokemon in Let’s Go happy to take their new friends on new adventures. Either way, it sounds like connecting the Let’s Go games with Pokemon’s 2019 title is on Masuda’s to-do list.

Another piece from the Famitsu interview involves players playing on their own Switch.

“As for the 2019 title, we’re working with the idea that everyone will be playing on their own Switch. It’ll have the same kind of feeling as the previous games on handheld systems.”

This sounds like Masuda is squishing the idea of multiple save files on 2019 titles. Typically Pokemon games only allow one save file per game. Though this feature has been wanted by some Pokemon fans to allow others to play the their Pokemon games.

The full interview from Famitsu will be release later this week.
