Play Pokemon
Huge news regarding the Play! Pokemon 2019-2020 Season.

The 2019-2020 Play! Pokemon season has officially been cancelled. This includes the North American International Championships in Columbus, Ohio and World Championships in London. NAIC was to take place from June 26th to 28th. Meanwhile, Worlds was set for August 14th to 16th. This means that all Play! Pokemon events have been cancelled until further notice.

It is worth noting that the venues for NAIC and Worlds have both been converted as makeshift hospitals. This may or may not have been considered when making the decision to cancel these events. Either way, the decision to cancel the season was made in order to keep players and organizers safe during the COVID-19 epidemic.

What about Championship Points?

Pokemon has said that all points earn this season will carry over for next year. They will also honor all earned invites for the season as well.

That is some good news for players who were close to earning their invite for the 2019-2020 season. Even better news for those who already have their invite for Worlds.

And the Location for Worlds 2021?

With this news also came the location for Worlds 2021. It has been decided that the location for Worlds 2021 will stay as London. Players can expect to enjoy a battle for the best in the UK for 2021. Pokemon has promised that the World Championship for 2021 in London will be bigger then ever before and will expand upon the event.

Sit tight trainers. Soon enough you will be battling! Make sure to wash your hands!
