Podcasters Questionnaire: Luke Loves Pokémon #PokePodMonth2023

Podcaters Questionnaire
He jsut loves Pokemon!

July is Pokemon Podcast Month. A month where we get to celebrate our favorite Pokemon podcasts.

Pokemon Podcasts have a vast array of hosts. All of them come from various backgrounds and think in different way. The one thing that they all have in common is that they host their podcast as if they are a friend. A friend where you can come to every episode in hopes to have a conversation with them. One where you can enjoy their company for various minutes as you do something from driving, enjoying a meal or just doing something in your everyday life.

Still, as friends you want to get to know them a bit better. So we have taken the chance to ask some of your favorite Pokemon podcasters various of questions. Some of these questions range from podcasting in general to why they simply love Pokemon. Overall, we want to give you a chance to get closer to the friends that you love to listen and talk to every episode.

Today we have the following answering our Pokemon Podcast questionnaire:
Luke from Luke Loves Pokemon.

What drew you to the Pokemon franchise?

Luke Loves PokemonLuke: I was instantly drawn to Pokémon when it arrived in the UK back in the late 90s. I’d been a monster kid previously, devouring Godzilla movies and Dinosaur content, and this felt like nothing else I’d seen before and tailor-made for me.

What inspired you to podcast?

Luke Loves PokemonLuke: I love listening to podcasts and I’ve had a few of my own with friends. With Luke Loves Pokémon in particular, I just wanted this deep dive into monster’s origins to exist and it didn’t, not that I could find back in 2018, so I started it myself.

What is your thought process when it comes to picking music for your podcast?

Luke Loves PokemonLuke: My intro and outro were recorded by my good friend Jonathan Cromie specifically to sound like Pokémon music. For everything else, unless I’m specifically using music associated with a monster. I just like a chill vibe.

What keeps you going when it comes to podcasting and Pokemon?

Luke Loves PokemonLuke: It’s the creatures themselves. I love Pokémon and until I can be a Pokémon trainer in real life, I’ll continue to enjoy spending time with them in games and on the TV and in this podcast.

When you record your podcast, who do you wish to reach with it?

Luke Loves PokemonLuke: I hope there are kids out there like me who are interested in these monsters and their origins, and they listen to this and it helps them find a new interest in mythology or biology or something similar.

What is the hardest part when it comes to podcasting?

Luke Loves PokemonLuke: I don’t have the best attention span and sometimes I struggle with depression so the hardest part is motivating myself to wake up every Tuesday and research, write, record and edit the episodes. On the other hand, having that schedule and knowing the audience is out there actually makes me do it more than, say, writing something with less of a deadline.

What has been the best Podcast moment you have had?

Luke Loves PokemonLuke: Any time I get a little YouTube comment, tweet or Apple review saying that listening to my show helps people feel a little better when they’re having a bad time, it really lifts my spirits.

Huge thank you to Luke for taking the time to answer these questions.

We hope you enjoy this moment with your friend if you are a listener of this podcast. If you are not then how about you take a chance and make a new friend by listening to Luke Loves Pokemon.

Make sure to give them a review on Apple Podcasts or your favorite podcatcher! Don’t touch that Totodile! See you all next time!
