Pokemon has recently awarded some amazing Professors!
Everybody is familiar with a Pokemon Professor. They give out trainers their first Partner Pokemon and help them along their journeys. Though, the real world also have Pokemon Professors.
They work with Pokemon to help give trainers of all ages a chance to experience and enjoy Pokemon. This may be with the TCG, VGC and Pokemon GO. They host regular League to bring players together to enjoy Pokemon and make new friends. You may see them hosting TCG and VGC tournaments to motivate others to be the best. They are seen at official Regional events ensuring that everybody is having fun and following the rules.
All of this falls under the Professor Program. The organization run by Pokemon to manage all the people who have the title of Pokemon Professor to bring the joys of Pokemon to their community.
With all of that said, The Pokemon Company International has awarded special plaques to six Pokemon Professors for making special contributions to the Professor community. Each plaque features reprints of the Galar Gym Leader with the special “Pokemon Professor” stamp. Normally this stamp is put on cards given to Pokemon Professors when they attend Professor University or other Professor Program events. Overall, this stamp makes the cards in this plaque not only rare but special! With only six copies of each in the world.
At the center of this plaque is a special card that reads “Presented to [name] for exceptional contributions to the Professor Community in the year 2021.”
The Award Goes to…
These plaques were awarded to any Professor on any level. From Basic to Stage 2 Professors. Though, it wasn’t awarded due to simply judging events but making special contributions to the Pokemon Professor community. From organizing communities to making Professors aware of special ways to play the Pokemon TCG.
Below are some of the amazing Professors who received this plaque and their contributions.
Ives Rountree: Helped create a special tournament series for Professors called “Smol Boi Circuit” to help promote meta awareness.
Will Post: Created the Professor Discord server so Professors around the world can assist each other during events while building an online community for Professors.
Anthony J. Caspanello: Involvement and creating several Professor University courses and operating the “You Are The Head Judge” initiative.

These two professors and the others who were awarded these plaques are truly exceptional. They are mentors to everybody who has ever met them and inspire the Professors and community around them to become “the very best like no one ever was”. If you ever meet them at an event then they are always doing what they can to ensure that people are having fun playing Pokemon. Meanwhile, assisting other Professors with becoming the best Professor they can be. I can attest to this on a personal level after meeting them several times at events.
Congratulation to Ives Rountree, Will Post and everybody else who received this special award! We can’t wait to see who else will receive this award in the future and the special contributions they will make to the Pokemon Professor community.
