The Pokemon anime is making some huge changes!
In Japan, the Pokemon anime made a huge announcement regarding the future of the series involving Ash and beyond! If you are a long time anime fan then a long time friend will be making their way out! Though it doesn’t mean the end of the Pokemon anime! That is right! Ash and Pikachu will be making their exit from the Pokemon anime after 25 long years! Meanwhile, we will follow a new pair of Pokemon trainers.
Goodbye Ash & Pikachu
If you have been following the Pokemon anime, then you would have known that Ash & Pikachu along with all of his team have won the Masters 8 Tournament. A grand achievement for Ash & Pikachu. Though, all things must come to an end as Ash and Pikachu will be making their leave from the Pokemon anime after 25 years.
Still, today is not the day we will say goodbye to Ash & Pikachu. As everybody needs to take a victory lap after such a major accomplishment. To commemorate Ash and Pikachu’s journey, a special 11 episodes special will air.
This special will be called in Japan as “Pokemon: Aim To Be a Pokemon Master”. It will feature Ash, Misty and Brock as they take one last journey together. These episodes will provide a glimpse at what the future may hold for the world’s strongest Trainer in this final chapter for Ash and his Pikachu. This special will be an expression of gratitude from Pokémon to all the fans who have joined him and his partner Pokémon Pikachu along the way. The special will air in Japan starting on January 13th, 2023.
It has been confirmed that this special will air in English at the end of Pokemon: Ultimate Journeys which will be later in 2023.

New Series
With the news of Ash and Pikachu’s journey ending, another announcement was made regarding the start of a new anime series. Not much is known though it promises to be filled with plenty of battles and new adventures in the Pokemon world.
This new series will follow two trainers, Liko and Roy (Japanese name), as they set forth on adventures in the Pokemon world. The new series will also feature Paldea’s Starter Pokemon: Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly. Also, we will see encounters with Shiny Rayquaza in this series. All of this and more as we take off on a new adventure with a new pair of trainers.
