Five Pokemon Facts You Don’t Know (1-5)

mqdefault

You think you are a Pokemon master? You think you know everything about Pokemon? Well, here are some Pokemon facts you don’t know:

Fact #1:

When the first English Pokemon Trading Card Game set, “Base Set”, started printing, there were numerous cards that were printed incorrectly. For example, the Bulbasaur card read “Length: 15 lbs.” instead of “Weight: 15 lbs.” These “error” cards had different types of errors. Another example is the Vulpix card, which read “HP 50” at the top right corner instead of “50 HP”. Most of these errors were fixed shortly after the first edition printings. However, the Vulpix card was fixed much later.

Fact #2:

So you think Pokemon can’t de-evolve (For example: Seadra becoming a Horsea again)? Well, a few Pokedex entries for Slowbro from different games say otherwise. The Pokedex entry in Pokemon Yellow states this: “Lives lazily by the sea. If the Shellder on its tail comes off, it becomes a Slowpoke again.” This basically means Slowbro can de-evolve.

Fact #3:

When you think of Charizard, you probably think of a big Pokemon, two or three times the size of you. Surprisingly, the Pokedex states that Charizard is only 5 feet and 7 inches tall. That’s around the size of an average adult person! Maybe that’s why you couldn’t fly on Charizard in Pokemon Red and Blue…

Fact #4:

Arcanine isn’t thought of as an official legendary Pokemon. However, the Pokedex gives Arcanine the misleading title of the “Legendary Pokemon”. To add on to this, Arcanine’s Pokedex entry in Pokemon Yellow states this: “A legendary Pokémon in China. Many people are charmed by its grace and beauty while running.” Does this mean Arcanine is a legendary Pokemon in China in the same sense as Mew, Rayquaza, Arceus, etc.? Or are they using legendary as its dictionary meaning?

Fact #5:

In Professor Oak’s introduction in Pokemon Red and Blue, there is a Nidorino that has the cry of a Nidorina.
