You will never guess what we just unlocked!
The introduction of Swirlix and Spritzee, two new Fariy-Type Pokémon in Pokémon GO, also brought a new global challenge. This time however, it remained hidden from players, to the point where most people didn’t even know there was a challenge to complete. The goal was very simple, collectively catch 500 million Fairy-Type Pokémon.
Three days into challenge, we hit the 90% mark. And before long, the goal was hit as the Twitter account @PokemonGoApp indicated.

This is all fine and good, but the question that I’m sure you are all wondering…what is the reward? We get 3x the catch XP, Pancham appearing in Raids, and Shiny Galarian Ponyta has been unlocked! These rewards are available starting on May 11th at 10 a.m. and run until May 17th. After this time, Pancham will be hatching from 12 km Strange eggs.
