The Beta is going to be live for Pokemon TCG Live!
Players of the Pokemon TCG have been waiting for a long time for a new online client to use. Pokemon has announced that a new online client for the TCG will be release in the form of Pokemon TCG Live. No date on the release of the new app was given. Though, they did tell us an open beta will be done soon.
We now have the date for when the open beta for Pokemon TCG Live will be.
The beta testing for Pokemon TCG Live will start on February 22nd, 2022. It will only be open to Pokemon TCG players in Canada. Pokemon TCG Live will be available as a downloadable app on iOS, Android, Windows and Mac. There will also be in-app purchases.
Details for Pokemon TCG Live
According to specs, Pokemon TCGL will be in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. The requirements to play Pokemon TCGL will be iOS 15 or newer, Android 8 or newer, Windows 7 or newer, or Mac OS X 10.14 (Mojave) or newer.
There has been an update regarding sets that will be playable upon release of Pokemon TCGL. You will now be able to play with cards from Sun & Moon-on. This will include Brilliant Stars that will be release within the same week of the beta.
Cards from the Black & White and XY era of the game will be in the game but not playable.

Why did you decide to limit the limited beta to Canada only?
Launching the Pokémon TCG Live limited beta in Canada allows the development team to collect gameplay feedback that will help shape a positive experience at scale once the online game is globally released.
Do you have plans to release the limited beta in additional markets before global launch?
Canada is the only market identified for limited beta launch at this time.
If I’m participating in Team Challenge—Season 3, will the tournament continue in the Pokémon TCG Online?
The Team Challenge Qualifiers will continue to be run in the Pokémon TCG Online. If you are a player located in Canada, please do not migrate your Pokémon TCG Online collection to Pokémon TCG Live. Those who choose to do so will no longer be able to log in to the Pokémon TCG Online and will be unable to continue participating in Team Challenge—Season 3.
Will the Team Challenge—Season 3 playoffs and finals be run in Pokémon TCG Live?
