Pokken Tournament Championship Series Start Date

Pokken Tournament
It looks as if the Pokken Tournament Championship Series is starting much sooner then expected. Players will be able to get a chance to play Pokken Tournament early and compete in a competition during Pokemon Day on February 27th.

The Pokkén Tournament Early Access Competitions will take place at select GameStops on February 27th. There will be two age divisions: players born in 2001 or later and players born in 2000 or earlier. Those who are successful in the Early Access Competitions will be trained by professional fighting game players in order to prepare for the finals. This training will be shared via Nintendo’s social media channels. The winner from each age division will then get to compete at the Pokkén Tournament Early Access Competition Finals in New York City at the Nintendo NY store on March 17th. The winner of the finals will receive a Wii U, Pokkén Tournament, and a travel awards to Columbus, Ohio, to battle in the 2016 Pokémon US National Championships!

Players will be given a chance to try out and learn Pokken Tournament prior to the start of the competition. Registration will start at 10 am. Playtime will start at 11 am and end at 5:30 local time.
