Sun and Moon TCG Set Coming to Japan

SUN AND MOON
The Pokemon TCG is about to enter a new generation! It will not be long until Japan will see several new cards from the new generation with a brand new mechanic.

We have finally receive information about the seventh generation of Pokemon that will be entering the TCG. The first set of the new block and generation will be called Collection Sun and Collection Moon. This is part of the Japanese trend of releasing a set as two parts. The first part of the set will be called ‘Sun’ and the other ‘Moon’. Each set will have 60 cards which will be a total of 120 new cards. This set will not only introduce several new Pokemon into the TCG but also a brand new mechanic in the form of GX Pokemon. These GX Pokemon were introduced at Worlds as powerful cards with a powerful GX Attack.

The ‘Sun’ and ‘Moon’ set will be release in Japan on December 9th.

Japan will also see the release of three decks that will be release on the same day. These decks will be called ‘Grass Starter Set,” “Fire Starter Set,” and “Water Starter Set” featuring Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio. These decks will most likely be similar to the Kalos Starter Decks that English players could purchase prior to the release of the XY set in America. These ‘Grass Starter Set,” “Fire Starter Set,” and “Water Starter Set” will come with 60 cards and a GX Marker. Most likely this GX Marker will be used with the GX mechanic to indicate if a GX Attack was used during the game.

There is no word about the first TCG set featuring Generation 7 Pokemon. All we know about the first English TCG set is that it will be called Sun & Moon and it will be release in early 2017.
