TCG Jump: Featured Match- Klinklang/Aromatisse Deck

Heavy Metal Faries
State Championships are taking place across the country. Trainers are putting their decks to the test as they battle for a spot in the Top Cut. Though, the most interesting thing happen in the States for Texas where a new brand of deck emerge as the winner. The deck in question is Klinklang/Aromatisse or as the creator Michael Feller would call it, Heavy Metal Fairies.

The Klinklang/Aromatisse deck takes advantage of two very important abilities. One of them is Klinklang’s PlasmaSteel which protects all Metal Pokemon from damage cause by EX Pokemon. The other is Aromatisse’s Fairy Transfer which allows the user to move Fairy energy however they want. You simply attach Fairy, Prism and Rainbow energy to the Metal Pokemon you want to attack with while PlasmaSteel keeps them safe from Pokemon EX’s attacks. When one Pokemon becomes heavily damaged, your simply transfer the energy to another Pokemon and heal the active. Once that is done, simply move the energy back and attack.

This deck works similar to Fairy Box but in reality it is closer in concept to the Klinklang deck from the previous season. The main type of energy has changed to Fairy thanks to Aromatisse but is much easier then setting up two different Klinklang. There are also several techs such as Darkrai EX for free retreat and Virizon EX to protect your Pokemon from the effects of Hypnotoxic Laser. You will mostly be attacking with your Metal Pokemon as they will be taking no damage from your opponent’s Pokemon EX’s attacks. Skarmory EX could be used to rid your opponent’s Pokemon of any attached Tools and to do heavy damage with Tailspin Piledriver. Registeel EX can do spread damage. Lastly, Cobalion EX will be use to discard special energy and do a solid 100 damage. A lot of decks these days rely heavily on Pokemon EX attackers so this deck takes advantage of that and slows down the match. This allows you to take your time with energy attachments.

Pooka from The Top Cut recreates the deck and shows the strengths and weakness of it. The deck is slow to play just like it predecessors and you need to make sure your engines are kept safe. If you do that then your opponents may find themselves in a bind if all they have left to attack with are Pokemon EX that do zero damage to your metal army.
