PokeCoin
Are you finding it hard to get PokeCoins in Pokemon GO right now?

Then you are in luck because Pokemon GO is thinking about updating the ways you can earn PokeCoins. Starting soon, Pokemon GO will be testing a new system to earn PokeCoins in Australia.

During this test they will be altering the way you get PokeCoins from Gyms while also giving out PokeCoins from activities. All of this so you can earn PokeCoins while playing from home.

Reworking PokeCoins from Gyms

One of the changes being done to the PokeCoin System is with gyms. Players will only be able to earn two PokeCoins per hour from a gym. They will get one PokeCoin per 30 minutes their Pokemon stay at a gym. Previously, you would only earn 6 PokeCoins per hour.

With this change, they have they have also upped the amount of PokeCoins you can get per day from 50 to 55.

Prior to this test, it would take eight hours to gain 50 PokeCoins. During this test, it will take 25 hours, or almost a whole day, of your Pokemon being in a gym to earn 50 PokeCoins.

PokeCoins from Activities

Pokemon GO will also allow you to earn PokeCoins from feature activities. They have not let us know how you will earn these PokeCoins. Though, it was stated that you will need to complete the featured activities each day to receive five PokeCoins.

Below are some of the feature activities you can look forward to completing for PokeCoins.

  • Make an Excellent Throw
  • Evolve a Pokémon
  • Make a Great Throw
  • Use a Berry to help catch a Pokémon
  • Take a snapshot of your buddy
  • Catch a Pokémon
  • Power up a Pokémon
  • Make a Nice Throw
  • Transfer a Pokémon
  • Win a raid

This test will start in Australia and eventually the changes will roll out to the rest of the world. During the test they will take feedback and perform additional testing based on the results. If you do not like a certain aspect of these changes then make sure to let Niantic know.

Best of luck in your catches and earning PokeCoins!
