Released on Serebii, The next Battle Competition to take place on Battle Spot has been announced! It is called the Kanto Classic and it will implement rules similar to those of the original Generation I games (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow). They will be Single Battles and you can only use 6 of the original 151 Pokémon, but no Mewtwo, Mew or items! Registration is from February 25th to March 5th and battles begin on March 4th, continuing through March 6th. Participants get a special Dragonite based on Lance’s Dragonite from Red and Green. It will be Level 62, have the Inner Focus ability, and know the moves Agility, Slam, Barrier and Hyper Beam.
This is particularly special because Dragonite has never been able to learn Barrier even though Lance’s Dragonite knew it in Red, Green and Blue. This competition comes soon after the release of the original Generation I Pokémon games to 3DS virtual console, hitting the North American Nintendo eShop on February 27th.
