Spotlight Hour: Skwovet

skwovet spotlight hour
It’s time to go nuts for Skwovet!

The cute little squirrel Pokémon from the Galar region, will be in the spotlight on August 24th. The Cheeky Pokémon made it’s debut in GO last week so lets learn more about it.

About Skwovet

Skwovet, is 1’00” and weighs 5.5 lbs. Wow, did I say it was little earlier? That’s actually quite large for a squirrel. I sure wouldn’t want to meet a beohemoth rodent like that in the park. Using its special cheeks, Skwovet can stuff a tremendous amount of food and can stretch to many times its normal volume. It normally fills its cheeks with berries, but if it is feeling full, it can temporarily keep the extra food in its tail fur.

The Spotlight Pokémon made their first appearance in the newest main series games, Pokémon Sword and Shield. Skwovet appeared near the beginning of the game. It is often categorized with other early game rodents such as Rattata, Sentret, Zigzagoon, and Bidoof.

In Pokémon GO

Skwovet, in its base stage, has it’s strongest moveset in Bite and Body Slam with the Max CP of 1,067 CP. Greedent, it’s final form, has it’s strongest moveset in Tackle and Body Slam and it has a Max CP of 2,679.

The Shiny form of Skwovet has not been release in Pokemon GO at the time of writing this article, and is not expected to be released by the time of Spotlight Hour.

Tips for Spotlight Hour

This Spotlight hour, which runs form 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time will also feature 2x transfer candy. So if you haven’t saved up enough candy to evolve Skwovet, or you need more to power it up, now is the best time to do that. Simply save up everything you catch and transfer them near the end of the event. This is also great to clean up your Pokémon Storage and earn extra candy doing it.

See you around, Genesect!
