Because Pokemon GO is going to bring Dia de Muertos around the world! For this holiday in Mexico and other parts of Americas, people pay their respects to their love ones who have passed. They do this by setting different treats and dishes that their love ones enjoyed.
Last year, Pokemon GO had done this event in Mexico and certain parts of Latin America. Though, this year the Dia de Muertos event will be celebrated around the world! Join Pokemon GO from Monday, November 1st at 10AM to Tuesday, November 2nd at 8PM for a Celebracion de Otra Mundo!

If you are a trainer in Latin America and the Caribbean then you will receive the follow extra bonus.

- Featured Event Pokemon will be appearing more often in the wild
- Featured event Pokemon will be attracted more frequently to Incense
- Featured event Pokemon will be attracted more frequently to Lure Modules
Dia de Muertos Collection Challenge
A Collection Challenge will be available during the event.
If you complete the Dia de Muertos Collection Challenge then you will get an encounter with a Shedinja and receive a Poffin and Incense.

To help get you in the mood for Dia de Muertos, Pokemon GO is giving out a free shirt for your avatar. This shirt is based on the papel picado (pecked paper) that is used as decorative for Dia de Muertos celebrations. The shirt can be seen above.
