GameStop is your next stop for Pokemon!
It has been reveal that GameStop will now host “Trade & Play” Events for Pokemon. Trade & Play Events were held at Toys R Us as a way to get Pokemon fans into the store while giving away free items. These events were always held around the time a new set was release and sales were held. It now looks as if GameStop will be carrying on the tradition of the Trade & Play events.
The first Trade & Play Event for GameStop will take place on Sunday, August 5th. This will be after the official release date for Celestial Storm. There are no official details as in what will be given out. It is said that they may give out Kyogre and Groudon pins and Pokemon lanyards. Though, starting on August 1st there will be a Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off Sale on all Pokemon TCG products. This sale will end on August 7th.
GameStop will also distribute a Groudon card from Celestial Storm. This card will be stamped with Legendary Pokemon stamp. If you want this card then you will need to purchase at least $25 dollars worth of product. This promotion starts August 5th but some locations may have started giving it out this week.
Also continuing with the Year of Legendary, GameStop will be giving out codes for Groudon and Kyorge. These codes can be redeemed in Pokemon Sun & Moon and Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. This distribution starts on August 3 to August 26.
