Alice trekked down toward the coast. The walk was quite pleasant despite the approaching evening. The track wound between large rocks that she was tempted to climb on, but she knew it was best to keep to the path. The sun was still warm on her skin, and she enjoyed the solitary walk. It had been a long time since she had been completely alone, without even her Pokemon for company.

Eventually she reached a secluded beach. Rolling waves lapped against the sand. It looked idyllic in the evening light. Alice took a deep breath of the fresh sea air. Is this what a normal trainer journey would be like? Having time to stop and relax and enjoy the sights? Alice shook her head. Even now she didn't have time to stop. She had to check out the cave and make it back to her friends. The sand stretched out in a pale yellow crescent before her. She followed it keeping an eye on her Poketech to make sure she was going in the right direction. As she neared a rocky outcrop on the other end of the beach, she could see dark caverns hidden in the stone. Finally she was close enough to see the cave itself. It was bigger than she had imagined, stretching high above her head. The mouth of the cave was filled with seawater up to her ankles. Alice grimaced as she stepped into the slushy sand. She hated the feel of water in her boots. Her Poketech indicated that she was close to the mega stone now. But what could it be? She headed into the cave slowly, giving her eyes time to adjust to the darkness.

As she walked further from the entrance, the first part of the cavern was very dark. As her eyes adjusted, however, Alice could see faint light somewhere ahead. Carefully she sloshed through the water, unfortunately being louder than she had hoped. The splashing of each step echoed through the cavern, drowning out any other sounds. Alice kept one hand locked around Aster's Pokeball, knowing she was in a vulnerable position should anything be lying in wait.

Eventually, the floor beneath her feet became hard, dry rock. She shook off her boots as best she could. The roof of the cavern stretched way above her head, and was impossible to see. A few times, Alice thought she heard something above her, but figured it was probably just the echo of the water from the cave mouth. Once, small rocks or other debris seemed to tumble from the roof of the cavern behind her. Heart pumping fast, she had to steel herself against sending out Jedi to light up the cave. If there were Pokemon around, it would only agitate them. She walked as quickly and quietly as possible, ears and eyes strained against the darkness.

As Alice made her way further into the winding cavern, the darkness seemed less oppressive. Sure enough, as she continued, the darkness seemed to recede slowly, until she rounded a corner and was standing in a dimly lit, wide cavern. Small shafts of light punctured the cave from gaps in the rock above. She looked up toward the roof of the cavern, but it was too far, and too bright to see much in that direction.

It took a few moments for Alice's eyes to adjust to the relative brightness. When she opened them, she saw a pedestal set in the centre of the cavern. On it lay a shiny, round object, glinting dimly in the light. She approached it cautiously. The pedestal was carved from rock, and the glowing stone swam with purple and green light. It was mesmerising. Alice reached out a hand toward it, longing to touch it.

Rocky and the Kakunas

Rocky watched the mean little Weedle crawl away chuckling to itself. The Aggronite was rolling away. Struggling with the sticky string shot Rocky pulled with all his considerable strength and Pulled Rusty free of the string.

"Rusty get the stone!" Rocky yelled and pushed the large Lairon towards where the stone was heading towards a ledge. Rusty did her best to get to the edge but was too late. The stone fell off down to the darkness below.

Rocky Pulled himself free of the sticky threads and came over to the ledge. "Looks like we missed out on the stone, Rusty." He reached down and patted her head. "I think that we need to get out of here, before those Kakuna fully wake up." He checked his Pokeballs and realised that Speedy was missing.

"Speedy! Where are you?" he called out. The echoes of his loud call seemed to agitate the Kakuna. "Uh-oh!" he said to Rusty. "That may have been a mistake."

"Ratata, Ratta Rat!" Rocky heard from down below the edge as Speedy came rushing up to the cave and climbing up to Rocky's shoulder. Speedy chattered excitedly to himself as he played with the sparkly stone, that he had chased down the hole.

Logan pointed out to each of them where the stone they could find were and loaded a map of the area. Brandon's stone was located somewhere down a path leading to the shore. Brandon set out that way, Skipper flying above Brandon stretching out his new wings, Marshtomp was right next to him along with rest of his pokemon. As he made his way down the path it started to become clear it wasn't going to be as easy as he thought. In one area, the grass was REALLY tall and overgrown and Brandon had to have Parasect use blade cut to slice through the grass just enough to get through.

As he continued on towards the shore Marshtomp began to get real excited. The prospect of being able to reach his Mega form seemed to make him very happy. About 10 minutes later, they reached the beach and his pokemon began scouring the beach for the stone. Brandon noticed a suprisingly large group of seels relaxing just at the very edge of the waterline, where the beach met the water. Brandon began to search that area very cautiousily for the stone. He saw it, it was a mere couple feet from the seels. Brandon ordered his team to get into tight defensive formation and Brandon made a run for it, right as he was about to reach it the seels woke up and began to get really mad, Brandon slid in to where the stone was, grabbed it, got back up and started to run away from the seels as fast as he could, but they were sending water guns after them and Brandon kept slipping and falling.

Skipper swooped down and let out a huge roar and let a streak of fire at one of the seels, taking that one out but agitating the rest of them even further. Brandon called for Skipper to get back to his side. Brandon knew he meant well, but that tactic wasn't going to work and would only make them angrier. Marshtomp stepped forward and motioned for Brandon and all his pokemon to get back to the main path and off the beach. Brandon complied and him and the rest of his pokemon made a bolt for the path while Marshtomp used his water type abilities to move all the water away from the team. He was doing a good job, but with there being so many, he couldn't control them all.

Right as Brandon and his pokemon cleared the beach and reached the path, a water gun hit Marshtomp and sent him flying backwards. He got right back up, glanced where the team was, saw they were in safety zone, then with all the power he could muster, he made a big surf of water rise up from the ocean and hit all the seels. The wave was so big it hit Marshtomp as well, but he had been ready for it and had begun to swim upwards with it as it reached him, making the effects on him very slight, the wave began to lose strength and size as it made its towards the team, finally dying off just shy of the team. All that was left when it reached the team was a big puddle of cold water that made the teams feet and lower legs really cold. Overall though, none of them were hurt and the remaining seels fled back into the ocean.

It seemed performing surf had worked. It was risky, but it seemed Marshtomp knew what he was doing and had made just the right size where it would do damage to the seels but would die off before it reached Brandon and the team. Marshtomp waved his paw in the air after the seels and said "MARSSHHH TOMPP TOMPP" as if to say "That is what you get for messing with my trainer and friends!!". Brandon gave Marshtomp a high five and Skipper gave one him one as well. After some more minor celebrating, the team slowly made their way back down the path towards logan. Admiring the pretty stone, the whole way.

As Alice's hand gripped the shiny orb for a moment. In the center of the orb a flash of color could be seen as she held it up to get a closer look. No sooner had she disturbed the orbs tranquility that she caught the attention of a orbs guardian. Above her head in the shadows a set of hateful eyes watched her every movement. As it noticed her holding the stone it was sent into a fit of rage. Without warning it dove down.

"AREOOOOO" It called out

Speedy took the Mega Stone and rushed back to Rocky who quickly backed out. As they backed up and began heading back up he could see the Kakuna start to shake. Not wasting time he darted off. However with Beedrill on his tail. Rocky and his team moved further in. They waited silently for the beedrills to pass by on the their way out. Something further back caught speedys attention. The rat moved towards a pile of berries. Mixed in with the berries were some great balls and a ticket.

How did this small treasure end up here? before he couldnt ask.

Something jumped out of the shadows. Sableye appeared from the shadows but it looked different, it looked darker, angrier. Next to it appeared a Poochyena that also looked darker.

Alice held the orb up in the dim light of the cavern. It swirled mysteriously with a deep purple glean.

It started as a rumble, followed by debris raining from the ceiling. Alice pocketed the mega stone, and reached immediately for a Pokeball. The other hand tried to protect her head from the falling stones. An earsplitting screech echoed through the cave. It was impossible to tell where it was coming from, but that was soon made clear when a violent gust forced her to her knees. She cried out in pain as her knees hit the hard rock. She instinctively rolled to the side, barely dodging as something heavy crashed into the stone pedestal where she had been standing a moment earlier, smashing it to pieces.

Without thinking, Alice's arm extended, releasing the Pokeball she had clutched. She didn't know who it was... couldn't concentrate enough to feel their energy through the Pokeball.

"Saur!" Aster appeared in a flash of bright red that blinded Alice. Luckily the Ivysaur seemed to adjust quickly to the dim light, and dodged the whip of the Aerodactyl's tail as it slammed into the ground. The prehistoric beast was magnificent to behold, taller than Alice, its wingspan dwarfed her. She crawled backward, heart racing. She couldn't panic. This was a wild Pokemon. She had disturbed it. She had one chance now to assert her authority, to capture it. Before her, Aster seemed to understand. He dodged the Aerodactyl's swiping talons and came to stand before his trainer, waiting for her command.

"Razor Leaf!" Alice's voice rang out strong, and her partner obeyed. The Ivysaur knuckled down, centering himself, before releasing a flurry of sharpened foliage. The leaves sliced at the Aerodactyl's skin, but the great beast just shook angrily, sending them glacing off against the walls of the cave. Alice had to duck as one shot past her head. "Stop!" she called to Aster.

In a strangely fluid movement, the Aerodactyl launched itself into the air like a catapult and clutched a rock half way up the enormous cavern. Alice couldn't believe how fast it was. In such a small space, it was able to maneuver with a precision she would have thought impossible. Though she felt its hot anger, she couldn't help but be awed by it. A living fossil. It was beautiful.

"We have to catch it," Alice said breathlessly. This was why she had travelled. This is why she had wanted to be a trainer. She had learned a lot on her journey so far, and though a lot of it had not been her choice, she could use it now to tame this beast, to prove herself worthy. In response, the Aerodactyl shrieked, sensing her reluctance to leave its territory unchallenged. It swooped from its perch, heading for Aster, claws outstretched.

"Dodge it, and grab it with your vines," Alice cried out. Aster seemed to understand the significance of this moment. He dodged, barely, skidding hard against the rocky cavern floor. An involuntary gasp escaped Alice's lips as the Aerodactyl adjusted its trajectory. With a triumphant roar, it snatched the Ivysaur from the ground and took off again into the air, slower this time.

"Stun Spore!" Alice cried, panicked. She heard Aster's answering cry, but could see nothing. Aerodactyl was somewhere near the top of the cavern, where it was too bright to see due to the filtered light. Alice coughed hard as the stun spore rained down. She covered her face with her sleeved, waiting for it to pass.

The Aerodactyl screeched in annoyance and then Alice could see Aster freefalling - in its panic, the Aerodactyl had let him go. Alice felt her heart stop. What had she been thinking? The drop was incredible. She couldn't think. She stood frozen as her started plummeted to the ground.

But Aster wasn't done - thin but strong, his vines whipped above him, tethering him to the flailing Aerodactyl that had now come into Alice's view. The vines wrapped around the Aerodactyl's foot, yanking it down hard, as Aster used the momentum to swing himself sideways before lowering himself gently to the ground. The Aerodactyl was flung into the cavern wall. Rocks rained down once more and Alice wondered for the first time how stable the cave was. Already it seemed lighter, as if more holes had opened up in the ceiling. With a mighty crash, the Aerodactyl sunk to the cavern floor, twitching with paralysis.

Alice clenched her fists. Now was the time. She had to approach it, to make it understand she meant no harm. To ask it to follow her, to become her Pokemon. Aster puffed heavily behind her, "Saur," he muttered, concerned, but Alice merely shook her head. She had to be strong now, show no fear. She walked slowly but surely to the struggling beast, making sure to approach it from the front, toward its head, so that it would see her coming and not be surprised.

When she reached it, it had stopped twitching, its eyes closed. Alice let a sigh of relief escape her. Up close, the Aerodactyl was even more terrifying: a jaw of razor sharp fangs, talons perfect for ripping prey and a tail that could easily fling her across the room. She stood before it, back against the rock cavern.

"Aerodactyl," she began. At that moment the mega stone in her bag seemed to react. Its eerie light glowed right through the bag. In a split second, the Aerodactyl lunged at her, its shoulder pressing against her chest, forcing her against the rock behind her. Air was forced from her lungs. She choked, gasping, but the Aerodactyl seemed frozen in place - the paralysis fully taking hold once more.

And then Aster was there, crying for her, trying to move the beast with his vines, trying to shunt it with his body. He tried, again and again, but the Aerodactyl was frozen in place, as if it was made of stone. He wasn't strong enough. Alice felt weak, would have fallen to her knees if the Aerodactyl wasn't propping her up with its weight. She couldn't move her arms, couldn't move anything. She looked into the Aerodactyl's eyes and saw only fear. Alice felt her eyelids drooping, she couldn't seem to get any air. Darkness was closing in, relaxing her muscles. She wasn't afraid, but she felt bad for Aster. She hoped he would go back and find her friends. She hoped someone would take care of her Pokemon.

"Saur!" Aster cried suddenly, and the darkness engulfing Alice turned suddenly to light. It was a brighter light than Alice felt she had ever seen. It felt warm. She wasn't afraid. And suddenly all weight was lifted from her.

She sunk to the ground, gasping, forcing breath into her lungs. Her head pulsed painfully as she blinked, her eyes trying to adjust to the rapid changes in light. The Aerodactyl was still there... but there was something else, something big...

Alice felt strong vines curl under her arms, another cradling her back. In an instant she was off the ground and placed gingerly on the back of her starter Pokemon. "A-Aster," she managed to choke in wonder. He had evolved. She leaned now against the stem of the giant flower protruding from his back. His vines released her. She didn't realise she was crying until she ran her hand across her face. "You saved me," she sobbed, reality hitting her. She struggled for breath as the tears kept rolling down her cheeks. Slowly a familiar scent, like an old forest, filled her head. She felt immediately calmer. The Aerodactyl had also stopped twitching. Alice stroked Aster's ear, thanking him for the Sweet Scent.

Alice's chest hurt terribly, but she reached into her bag, retrieving a Pokeball. She tossed it at the Aerodactyl, and watched as it pinged shut for good. Aster retrieved it with his vine, handing it to Alice. She cradled it gingerly. "I'm sorry Aerodactyl," she said solemnly. "I'll make it up you. I hope you'll let me." She placed the Pokeball in her bag. "Let's get out of here," she said. Her throat had started to hurt from the gasping earlier. She let Aster lead the way out of the cavern and back toward her friends, while she napped lightly on his back.

After walking for a bit, Rose could sense something following behind her. After a minute, it came close enough for her to tell it was a small psychic type Pokemon. Rose paid little attention to it, as it didn't seem to mean any harm. After a while of walking she found the path she had taken earlier.

It was only a minute later when the Pokemon behind her suddenly let out a cry. A large Pokemon came flying down and circled above her twice before stopping and hovering over the path. She pulled out her pokedex and identified it as a Yanmega.

Rocky escaped the cave with his prize.

"What do you think, Rusty?" he held the Aggronite toward the Lairon.

Rusty sniffed it and said, "Lairon, Ron!"

"Yes I know, but once you are a little bit bigger we can use it! Anyway, it looks like it is time to head back to meet the others. Come on everybody, lets go!" He looked around. "Has anyone seen Speedy?"

"Squirtle!" said Flash Flood pointing to a Rustling bush.

Rocky walked over and found Speedy. The little Rattata was eating as fast as he could. He had found a stash of berries and other random shiny things.

"Speedy, those don't belong to you. What if their owners come back?"

Speedy grinned and started eating faster. Until he was interrupted by a pair a viscious cries:"POOCHY!" "SAAABLLLLLE"

Looking up Rocky saw two pokemon running towards them. Rocky saw the now familiar sight of infection on them. "Look out evrybody, don't let them touch you. try to herd them towards me, and I will capture them."

Rocky's team used their long range attacks to try to herd the two shadow Pokemon into a trap, but the savage shadow infect Pokemon were having none of that. Behemoth was a little too slow and was cornered by the Sableye

Seeing a fight started Fury stopped holding back and zoomed into the fray. He picked both the sableye and the Poochyena in his claws and breathed a sheet of flame over them.

Despite his best efforts, these shadows were strong. The viscious shadow Poochyena looked for it's next target and found Angel-eyes. The little Vulpix tried giving the Poochyena a soothing look at her baby-doll eyes, but the Poochyena was unimpressed and bit a chunk out of Angel-eyes. With a cross bark Angel-eyes ran in a circle around the Poochyena surrounding it in spinning ring of fire. The Poochyena tried to escape but was knocked out by the fire.

Alice was on her way out quickly trying to get back to her friends. As if she had upset the gods again. She found herself the attention of dangerous pokemon. (Remember when you battle shadows you get poisoned !) The soft cry echoed through the caves. The nose could only be that of an injured pokemon but where could they be. Alice had just go through hell. Did she really want to get involved with something else.

Alice had a choice leave..

Or..

Alice could follow the path to see what pokemon needs up. Though the second path will surely lead her into what might be a trap!

Down the second path the calls for help picked up.

"ralts.." The low voice called for help.

Before she could get a closer look two dark and dangerous pokemon appeared.

Rose fought off the Yanmega and for a moment felt the rush of having protected her pokemon and the little psychic type.

"Are you okay?"
She asked trying to get a little closer to the pokemon.

The little Inkay poked its head out of the tall grass to look around for danger. When it noticed the nasty bug type gone. It floated out.
"KAY" "KAY" It said calling her attention.

it seemed as if the Inkay was trying to get her attention. It circled around trying to get Rose to follow. It then started to float east calling for Rose to follow. Hidden a little ways up the path was a small scared pokemon. Rose could sense something. She couldnt put her finger on it but it seemed like fear or distress. Hidden deep in the tall grass only a shivering leaf moved back and forth.

After only a few moments, Alice was woken by a low grumble from Aster. He seemed to have found a tunnel Alice hadn't noticed on her way into the main cavern. From its depths came the cries of a Pokemon. Alice was exhausted but she knew she couldn't ignore them.

As Aster trudged down the second path, the cries got louder. Aster seemed very uneasy and even Alice sensed some strange energy ahead. Sure enough, the pair were greeted by two Shadow Pokemon. They were so dark they almost blended into the cavern walls.

Aster pulled up sharply, nearly sending Alice tumbling off. She clutched onto his leaves and reached for a Pokeball. She hesitated for a minute, remembering what had happened last time she had allowed her Pokemon to fight a Shadow Pokemon. But the distressed Pokemon's cry rang out again, and Alice knew she had to risk it.

It was a tough battle but Aria and Jedi managed to take out the Shadow Pokemon. Alice captured both of them without a second thought. Then she returned her Pokemon. "Thank you," she said softly to the Pokeballs. "I'm so sorry. I'll get you help as soon as I can!" She would have to find a Pokemon Center as soon as she was out of this cave.

"Let's go, Aster," Alice said hurriedly. She was still sore but the adrenaline had pushed all the pain away for now. As they headed further into the cavern, Alice noticed a lot of items scattered about. Aster helped her gather them using his vines. "I wonder what happened here," Alice said worriedly, as she stored them in her bag. Had a trainer met their end here? It sure seemed like it from the Pokeballs and berries scattered around.

Alice and Aster continued further down the path, toward the cries of the Pokemon.

Rocky and his pokemon headed back to meet the others. Once again he had fallen short of catching the ever elusive weedle. On his way back he came across Brandon. The two quickly picked up the pace and ran across Rose and her partner greeting a Chikorita.

Meanwhile Alice and her pokemon made there way towards the sounds of crying. When they finally found the sourse of the crying to their surprise it was a shiny ralts of all things. The little shiny psychic moved back. The shiny pokemon was still terrified.
