Rocky was intrigued by one of the Pokeballs. He had seen the symbol on it before, A large circle with 6 smaller circles grouped around it, three on the right and three on the left.

He had looked at that symbol each time he mopped out the changing rooms in the Canalave gym. A poster showing Registeel with eyes in that exact layout. Could that be the ball Max had used to capture Registeel?

He looked at the other Balls and found another one with circles. This one had the circles laid out in a type of horizantal cross formation. Rocky didn't recognise it, but pulled out his Pok-I-Pad and tried connected to the Pokenet. A quick search of legendary Golems led him to Regice. That was two legenday pokemon.

The other symbols were much weirder, but with the first two symbols indicating legendary Pokemon, Rocky narowed hsi search down to Legendary Pokemon.

After a few minutes searching he was pretty sure he had matched the symbols to different Pokemon. "Hey everybody, I have identified what these symbols mean. They correspond to 5 different Legendary Pokemon. Registeel, Regice, Rayquaza, Azelf and Ho-oh. You don't think they are still in the balls do you? I am sure Max would have released them instead of keeping them stuck in here ... Wouldn't he?"

Alice peered into the two doors. Everyone was in the left room, filled with trophies and artifacts. The right room held a computer.

Alice wondered what Max was like when he had first made the base. Was he a beginner like them, or did he already have a lot of Pokemon? She realised she didn't know that much about him after all. She was looking around, careful not to touch anything. The computer... she thought. They should find Upgrade before someone else did... but Meg and Rocky were busy looking at different things and Rose was still acting strange.

"Can you check on Rose??" Meg asked her.

"Sure," Alice replied. Rose was making her way to the room with the computer ((I think xD)).

"Rose?" Alice called after her. "Are you alright?" She followed Rose into the other room.

They entered the main part of the base from the stairs, there were two rooms, one had all kinds of artifacts in it, the other a computer. Rocky and the bulk of the group went to the artifacts room, Brandon headed towards the computer room, they had to begin assessing the condition of the computer as soon as possible if they ever wanted to talk to Porygon soon. Brandon entered the room and put his backpack down on part of the desk, he began scurnitizing the pc in great detail. Out of the corner of his eyes he though he saw Rose and Alice close by. He called out to them "Rose?! Alice?! Are you two ok? You find anything interesting yet?".

Then he repeated the other names.

She then responded to his question.
" Of course..I bet these were just trophies of the capture." She said looking at them.

" At least i hope.." she smiled after they were done checking they walked over to join Alice, Brandon and Rose in the other room.

Alice stepped into the room with the computer. Rose was stuttering. "Rose? Can you hear me?" Alice said again. She couldn't understand what Rose was saying.

Alice walked up to Rose, standing next to her. Before them were 5 Pokeballs. Alice was sure they weren't there when she looked into the room earlier. "Did you find these?" She asked, but Rose wasn't answering.

Alice heard Brandon call out. "Over here!" she called back. Alice placed a hand on Rose's shoulder. What was happening? Could Rose's strange behaviour be linked to these Pokeballs? "I wonder what's inside..." Alice reached out and grabbed the nearest Pokeball.

Rose sensed Alice enter the room. At first she was too panicked to even hear what she was saying. Alice put her hand on her shoulder and Rose took a deep breathe. "Cerulean." She said in a slightly shaky voice, but this time understandable. "We need t-to get back to Cerulean." She declared in a tone more serious than her usual tone. "I... I don't know what's happening, but something is going to happen." She finished, not saying anything else. Would they believe her if she told them she had heard Max's voice in her head telling them these things? Sure, it would make about as much sense as anything else how she could have known how to get into the base and knew where the pokeballs were, but she was too worried to think rationally.

With the pokeballs past out it was time to get the info they came for. Meghan was concerned about Rose's comments. Rose didnt speak up much so the fact that she was worried about Cerulean meant she must have known something.

"Rose.." Meghan said going to her side.

" Please try and focus..how did you know about this?"


*Isnt that clear yet. A voice spoke up.*
The walls lighted up and a the virtual pokemon appeared now where the 3d map was.


*Your friend here has psychic abilities from what the computer is reading. Her energy waves are simliar to Max's. Your friend here entered an emergency code to enter this base.*

The hologram moved over and the 3d map appeared.

* I am security programmed with a small fraction of Porygon2's personality. The Upgrade Unit is a couple of hours south of Ceruelean City... Here (as it highlighted the area) Now than, because of the missions importance you all need an escort. Once you locate the DL device it will need to be returned immediately. So I am going to to release a pokemon to teleport it back here.


A flash appeared in the center of the room.


"Kazam!" It said looking over the young trainers.

Rose handed around some Pokeballs. They had been left here for each of the trainers, almost as if Max had known they would come here. Rocky opened his and out came a Piplup.

'Uh-oh' Rocky thought. He had a bad history with Piplups. He hoped that this one was nothing like the one he had left at home with his mother.

Alice felt alarmed, but tried not to show it. She tried to catch Meg's eye. Could this be what Max had warned them about in that strange dream she had? He had told them to keep away...

Before she could say anything, a Porygon hologram appeared and showed them the location of Upgrade on the map. They were to be escorted by an Alakazam, who would return Upgrade to the base afterwards.

*Hello young trainers. I am Alakazam. I have been asked to assist you. I will be with you as long as you require..* Alice felt the thoughts materialise in her mind. * Dark energy has clouded the world around us.. This is why your friend here is so distressed. *

Alice looked at Rose. She seemed shaken. How did she know where to find the base?

Alice opened the Pokeball in her hand. A small yellow fox appeared. It looked around unsurely, but calmly. Plume jumped from Alice's shoulder and landed next to the Fennekin, which didn't even flinch.

"Ack?" Plume questioned.

"Fen," the Pokemon nodded.

Alice wondered where Max had gotten this Pokemon. It seemed very young, but had a calm, wise aura.

"I'll name you Jedi," Alice said. "Welcome to our team."

"Fen." The Pokemon nodded again. Alice returned her to her Pokeball.

If Team Rocket got info out of Max, they could be here any second!"

Rose handed out the pokeballs. She had no idea what was in them, but She thought it would be something to help with this danger that was coming to Cerulean. While you could argue that they were, she had been hoping for something a bit more helpful than some basic Pokemon. Meghan came to try and question her on what was happening when the security system suddenly began to talk. It did most of Rose's explaining for her. "Your friend here has psychic abilities from what the computer is reading. Her energy waves are similar to Max's."

"I... I heard his voice." Rose said. "He told me..." Rose paused for a moment, shuddering slightly at his last words. "H-he told me that Cerulean was in danger." She finished, calming down, but still slightly shaky. The Alakazam mentioned a dark energy, and Rose shivered. "What do you mean by dark energy?"

"A darkness is coming." The Slowking's words echoed in her mind. Was this the darkness that it had tried to warn her about? What would they face when they made it back to town? Was the danger yet to begin, or were they already running out of time?
