Rocky saw that some of the other trainers wee a bit worried about the gym, which was fair enough, a lot of them had chosen a charmander starter, and this whole region seemed set up to punish people for choosing a fire starter. A rock first gym, and he had heard whispers that the second gym was water.

"If anyone would like a chance to try their skill against someone who has already defeated Brock's gym. Wait here while I heal my Pokemon and then I will accept any challenges." he said to the trainers who were yet to battle.

He made his way to the Pokemon center and got his Pokemon healed. Then he came back to where the group was. "So does anyone want to accept my challenge?"

Alice had followed the others back to the Pokemon Center. Most of them left to head to the gym, but Alice didn't feel quite ready. She took out her journal and wrote down a few notes, trying to calm herself. She then read through the Pokedex entries of the two Pokemon she had chosen to use in Brock's gym, memorising their attacks.

It was time.

With a deep breath, she headed outside. She would return here afterward, as a certified trainer or as a loser. She grabbed Aster's and Citrus' Pokeballs. "I'm relying on you two," she said. She released both of them.

Citrus fluttered happily beside her, while Aster walked calmly by her side. Just having them nearby made her feel stronger. She stopped for a moment, and called them close.

"I need you to do your best now," she said. "This is our most important battle so far. Let's just go over a few moves. Citrus, show me Sleep Powder!"

The butterfly zoomed upward, flapping his wings gracefully. Sparkling powder drifted down from the sky.

"Now blow it away from us with Gust!"

"Freeee~!" Ctirus swung downward, his wings flapping madly. A blast of wind scattered the powder.

"Saur!" The Ivysaur bounded forward. A pinkish powder began to pour from the flower bud on its back. Citrus seemed involuntarily drawn to the scent. Before the butterfly could approach, Aster sent a barrel of leaves flying through the air, dispersing the attractive powder.

Meg rushed out of the Pewter City.
"We did it! Great job guys!" She said walking over to heal her pokemon.


After a quick heal up she headed back to check on the others. She walked through Pewter pausing just short of the Gym. A couple of odd looking figures were walking very fast through an alley. She didnt think much of it and continued back to the gym.

Walking into the gym, Rose realized that there was already a battle going on, and a few of the others had gotten there before her to battle. She would have to wait. She noticed off to the side a few trainers that were looking for battles. One of them was a man a bit on the older side. He was a bit big and held a walking stick. He seemed the most friendly out of the trainers, so she went up to him. "I-I-I'll-" She started shyly, trying to get the words out. She took a deep breath. "I'll battle you."

And in a matter of minutes the battle was over. Rose had crushed her opponent. She was excited to have won, but she felt bad. She had just taken out the man's entire team of 6 Pokemon with only two of her own. She knew it wasn't her fault though. The man had just chosen the wrong Pokemon at the wrong time, and her Charmeleon was stronger than any of his Pokemon. "Thank you for battling." Rose said to the man.
