Alice and Max were on surveillance. So far it had been very quiet. The building looked completely ordinary.

"Do you notice anything suspicious about this building?" Max asked while they waited. Alice wasn't sure if he was testing her or genuinely wondering himself. But she didn't want to let him down.

"Everything looks pretty normal," she said. "But every so often my eye seems to catch movement in one of the windows. Whenever I turn to look, there's nothing there though. It's also strangely quiet on this side of town." Alice frowned. She hoped she had been helpful.

Aster sniffed at the air suspiciously.

After stopping hugging Rose. The two went to the pokemon center to heal up. Something odd began to happen as Pika started to glow. Megs eyes lit up.
"Whoa look at that! Pika Power!!!"



Meg almost flipped her lid when she saw the now evolved Pikachu!
"You are sooo adorable." She said scooping him up for a moment.

After a little to much hugging the little electric type let out a spark. That knocked Meg to the ground. Meg didnt seem to mind.
" tough love.." She laughed getting back to her feet.


Meanwhile

Max and Alice slowly moved in closer.

He smiled at her response but quickly went back to being serious. He had been testing her to see how she would respond and what she would notice.
" Good...but here is my concern. What do the Museum, Poketech and that small business have in common?" He questioned trying to get her to look harder.

Max gave her a minute or two to respond before talking.

"You know Alice, I wont always be around. Eventually all of you will be traveling and exploring on your own. I imagine you want to be scientist which requires a lot of experiments and observations. What we are doing now follows the same basic rules. We study the area around us, look for clues and see how they react. In this case are reaction will be coming in..five...four...three ...two ...one.." Max pulled her back so they were hidden better.

An alarms started to go off and the doors burst open and a bunch of men came running out shouting. Rotom had triggered the alarm which set off the sprinklers. The people coming out confirmed what Max had feared.
"Team Rocket is here." He growled.
"We need to get back to the others...something is going on.."

Max smiled at her. Alice felt the butterflies in her stomach pounding harder. " Good...but here is my concern. What do the Museum, Poketech and that small business have in common?" Max questioned.

Alice looked around. "They were all closed and quiet... they all look normal... they all relate to Pokemon somehow... " Alice didn't actually know what the small business was, but she thought that was an alright guess.

Team Rocket? Alice thought. She had heard the name, of course. It was a criminal gang, but they weren't active in Kalos. Her father had mentioned them to her, saying he had run into issues with them once, but he never elaborated. What could Team Rocket want with all these buildings? And the museum?

"Right behind you," Alice said to Max. She patted Pichu on her shoulder. The little electric type seemed confused. She clung to Alice's shoulder tightly.

As Alice and Max made their way back. Max had them take a small detour. A young fit man approached the two. He had a big smile on his face as he walked over to greet Max.


"Max its good to see you old friend." Grant said with a big smile.


Max looked at Alice.
" Have you ever met Grant. He is a gym leader from Kalos." As max spoke Terrorsaurs pokeball popped open and the little dino type ran right to Grant.

" There he is" Grant laughed.

Brandon chased after the men for about a half a mile or so... then he started having his pokemon help. He nodded to skipper "Buddy you run up alongside them and see if you can burn up their tires..." he said to Manky "Many you catch up grab onto their bike, do whatever you have to slow em down and/or stop them" to Pidgey he said "Pidgey you do faint attacks to scare them and slow the down,if you can... puncture their tire..." he said to mudkip use watergun, make it really slippery in front of their bike... let's give them a wild ride..." he said to caterpie "Ok caterpie... a can you launch a string of sticky webness to their bike to slow them... be sure to attach one end to that tree over there" his pokemon sprung into action... pidgey took off and did a series of faint diving attacks, close enough to cause a scare, but not close enough to harm them... next Mudkip launched a spew of water in front of their bike's path... then Manky leaped onto the back of the bike and wildly punched at the bag on the back of the motorcycle... the 2nd rider tried despartely to push the pokemon off, in doing so he accidently kicked the driver, causing the bike to jolt and swerve... Finally cagertpie launched a wet stinky string to the back, of their bike and swung it onto a nearby tree... Skipper managed to burn a decent hole in the rear tire with ember. Brandon... huffing for breath... finally caught up to the bike and ordered it to stop... when it didn't Brandon launched himself at the bag Manky had been punching... he (all in 1 motion) pulled loose the strap securing it to the bike and pulled the bag off the bike. This was more then enough to convince the to stop.... then driver slammed on the brake of the bike... sending Manky flying over the holder that had previously held the bag. He was ok though and got back up in a flash... waving his fists angrily at the riders and screeching "MANKKKYYY MANN MANNKKKEEEYY MANKEEE MANKIEE MANKEY!" Brandon other pokemon regrouped back to Brandon... Pidgey not before puncturing their front tire with his beak.


The men immediatelly demanded Brandon hand over their bag... Brandon retorted.. "Sure after I have a look through it and you and I have a chat about why you snickering at me... though I have a pretty strong hunch I already know why". The men then tried to step toward Brando ... presumably to snatch the bag back... but Brandon's Manky jumped in front his trainer defensivelly waving his fists and screeching, forcing the men to back up. Skipper , Mudkip, Caterpie and Pidgey also now stepped formed a tight defensive formation around him... not even a chipmunk would be able to get in safely.

Brandon opened the bag up and dumped the contents out... 1 pokeball, water and tools for fixing a bike. Brandon glared at the men angrily "YOU ARE THE GREEDY NO GOOD FOOLS THAT STOLE MY POKBALLS!".

Brandon's pokemon just kept watching the bikers and maintaining their tight defensive formation around their trainer... they were ready to defend their trainer at all costs... whether it be a battle, or moral support, or maybe even scaring the tattoos off these 'tough' bikers. Whatever happened, they were ready.

Brandons plan did not work. He was on foot and the people he was following were on motorcycles. Before his plan could even begin they were out of range. To catch up to them Brandon would need to think beyond just running right at someone. He followed there path for as long as he could..Once he lost track them he needed a new plan to find the jerks who ripped him off.

"We haven't met," Alice said. "But Grant runs the gym not far from my place. My dad was the one who gave Grant his Tyrunt." She turned to Grant. "He was really happy when he knew that a Gym Leader would be using one of his fossils," she said shyly.

"It's nice to meet you," Alice continued. She wondered how he knew Max.

Salamence came out and Max climbed on its back. The two took off into the air.

" Your dad is going to be amazed when I talk to him again. I actually came here on pokemon official league Business. "

As the two walked back to the pokemon center he explained.

"I would like you to represent Cyllage City and be one of Kalos representatives in the tournament coming up. What do you say ?"

Alice smiled back. "You too." She watched as Max flew off on a Salamence. The dragon sped through the air.

Alice smiled. "I hope they'll be proud. I've learned a lot so far," she said.

Alice followed Grant to the Pokemon Center. On the way he said, "I would like you to represent Cyllage City and be one of Kalos representatives in the tournament coming up. What do you say ?"

"Wow, really? I would love to!" Alice replied. She felt proud to be chosen to represent Kalos. She wasn't exactly sure about the tournament, but ever since she defeated Brock, she had begun to feel more confident with Pokemon battling. "I'll definitely give it my best shot," she finished.
