Rose backed up. She had just gone through her entire team. Technically her newly evolved Kirlia could still fight, but she was barely standing. All she had left was Amirah. It seemed that her opponent had no Pokemon left either though. She backed up, trying to find Meghan, or at least someone from the group.

The ground shook knocking back all attempts to get close. The massive creature trashed about. knocking back grunts and trainers alike. Nathan Combusken almost found itself part of the floor. Luckily Slick was just that much faster pulling the fire type out of the way.
"Handle the grunts Nathan.." Max commanded
" Your going to get your pokemon killed." He said trying to get the trainer to get on the same page as everyone else.

His attention moved back to the the glimmering mammoth. The longer it continued this ramage the more everyone in the cave would be in trouble. Max ran towards the creature calling out charmeleon.
"We need to get its attention!" Max said

He pointed out the northern route.
"Head to the far north and use fire spin.." He said calling out Pidgeotto
" Give it your best whirlwind and focus your wave of energy due south..You need to distract it while Lila gets into place." He said sending the Pidgeotto.

Upgrade began to flash and Porygon popped up.
"Max...this tunnel structural integrity is becoming compromised. I suggest a more serious approach."

Max sighed.
"I agree but falling back to the stronger pokemon is not the point of this exercise." He paused realizing that sounded selfish. He had loved to test himself but Upgrade was right.

"Transfer in Chunk.."

Rotom took a couple of second then sent the data to the pokeball.
"Uploaded"


Max reached for the ball calling out Swampert.

As Spinner and Lila now caught the onixs attention. There attacks didnt seem to do much of anything.

"I need your help old friend."

Max press a button opening up the key stone slot. He pressed down on it watching a purple sphere encompass Swampert. After it was done. Max whistled to the evolved pokemon.


"Chunk...we dont have time to waste..."

It let out a mighty roar.


"Go in and hit it as hard as possible. Its weakenes directly in the center. This could get rough but we need to stop this." Max said sighing. The bulky mega rushed in using its powerful body to slam into the center of the Onix. The Crystal beast let out a roar. At that point Lila's Fire Spin was set and SPinners Tailwind kept the fire burning around it.

Max let out a low whistle calling back over Rotom.



"We got King trapped now its time to set in place the thunder wave so Chunk can finish this. You go that?"

Rotom Zipped around nodding. The little ghost flew right around the crystal onix releasing thunder wave.

The crystal onix not ready to go down without a fight slammed its tail into the cave floor setting off the last hit needed to start the cave in. As if feel the ground Swampert finished it off with a hard slam knocking it out. Max called to the others....
"We need to get out of here! Get these grunt out of here through the north eastern tunnel there." He called loudly to the group.

The tunnel floor started to crumble with rocks falling over the place.
"Upgrade call them back." Max said running over to get his pokemon he. He ran up the back of the stunned mammoth and jumped over to the front it using a pokeball to capture it. He then ran towards Lila so that Upgrade was with in range to call her and the others back. As he ran towards the exit he Swampert turned back into normal form following him. As rocks came down.
he smashed through them clearing the path.

The opening was now wide enough for the others to escape. The fate of Butch and Cassidy had not even crossed his mind. The grunts that were still here were. He helped get them out. Waiting for the group to make the escape.

Max took down the Onix and blasted a way out. The tunnel seemed to be on the verge of collapse. Alice ran toward the exit, with Finn in tow. She kept one hand protectively on her bag, keeping the amber and egg from swinging around. As she ran, she noticed Rose nearby.

"We have to go!" she yelled. She didn't want to offend Rose by assuming she needed help, especially when she had already proven herself so capable, but there was no time to be gentle about it. Rocks were falling all around them. Alice linked her free arm through Rose's and headed for the exit...

With the battle done Rocky looked around the cave. It was chaos, the rampaging Onix was tearing the place apart.

"Everybody, let's get out. Now!" He saw that Alice was helping Rose and the otehrs seemed to be doing OK.

The Rocket Grunts were all running for the exit and Rocky was about to join them. Before he coudl go though he saw the young grunt he had pulled out of the way from the Onix. She seemed to be limping.

"We have to get out of here quick. Her let me carry you." He grabbed the grunt and ran for the exit.

Rather than be thankful for the help, the grunt cursed and threatened Rocky until he let her down outside the cave. She turned on him furiously.

"How dare you pick me up, you stupid twerp. Do I look like I need your help?" She did look like she needed help, because she was still unable to put any weight on her left leg, but she wasn't finished. "I am not some dainty little doll who needs rescuing. I am Bloodfist! Rocket grunt extraordinaire. I stand on my own without any help from a twerp like you. Mark my words, you have made an enemy today!"

"Soooo, no chance of a thank-you then?" Rocky asked not even bothering to hide the sarcasm in his voice.

The Grunt spun away from him with her arms crossed refusing to acknowledge his presence.

He regrouped with the other trainers. "Rose, Alice. It's good to see you got out safely. Where are the others? Aslo, what are we going to do about all these Rocket grunts we just defeated?"

Brandon swallowed the disgusting paralyze heal that Rocky gave him, he never knew they could work on humans, around him chaos raged as members in his group battled rocket grunts and Max took over the fight of the Onix although Nathan still tried... Brandon glanced down at his pokemon, they were moving again the paralasis having worn off quicker on them, Brandon wanted to help the group fight the grunts, but his pokemon were exhuasted, the only 2 still in battling state were Skipper and Marshtomp, Pidgey's conidition remained unknown, but he hoped it might wake up soon if he needed him, so there was little he could do to help, finally Max's mega chunk took out the onix, Marshtomp watched in wonder at the mega form, knowing 1 day he might be able to get to that form, however, now the cave was unstable and getting ready to come down, Brandon quickly called back each of his pokemon, the last thing he needed was for another one to get knocked out from rocks. Then Brandon took off running down the path max's chunk helped create, soon arriving outside the cave Brandon huffed and puffed catching his breath, as others both in his group and rocket grunts alike arrived and regrouped outside as well.

After the battle took off running as the trembling began. Meg caught only the ending of the Onix battle. Max's had called out a Mega to help end this. He must have been concerned that the team he was training here couldnt do it. As he cleared the path Meghan made sure that Dennnis and Nathan got out. She watched all the grunts take off before meeting up with the others.

"Lets move, lets move!" She called out racing towards the end of this tunnel.

Max called back Swampert after EVERYONE was out. No one was still in there at all. The tunnel caved in causing everyone to run even faster to get out. By the time was clear of the tunnel. Team Rocket was gone and it was now dark outside.

The air outside Mt. Moon was fresh. Meghan took a couple of good breaths finding a tree to lean against.
" Who wants to do that again.." She smiled sarcastically taking a second. She stood up.
"What I saw in there was amazing..we faced our first criminal organization and won."


Max was the last to make it out. A cloud of dirt followed him out. He waved his hand in the air coughing.
"Status report...anyone injured?" He said scanning the trainers.

Geodude curled around and then glowed in blue representing the Defense increase. "Shich use Double Kick!" Shich ran towards the Geodude and the Geodude braced itself. Shich landed two hits on the Geodude, knowing it back. "Geodude, use Rock Throw!" said the grunt. "Geodude!" cried the Geodude, while rock floated in the air. Geodude directed the floating rocks at Shich and landed a direct hit. "Shich use Growl!" said Nathan. Shich shrieked at the Geodude and the Geodude glowed in red, representing the attack decrease. "Geodude use Magnitude!" said the grunt. "Geodude!" cried the Geodude. suddenly the ground shoo and Shich tripped over and hurt itself. "Shich finish it off with another Double Kick!" said Nathan. "Combusken!" cried Shich jumping up and kicking Geodude with two lightning-fast kicks. Geodude was blown back and was KOed. "Geodude, come back!" said the grunt, "Go, Paras!"

Once they were out in the fresh air, Alice released Rose and flopped onto the ground, waiting for her heart beat to return to normal. She was relieved to see that everyone had made it out. She wondered what kind of damage Team Rocket had done to the mountain, and thought about the Bulbasaur in their hidden spring. She hoped they were all okay.

Alice reached into her bag and pulled out the egg. It was warm and she could sense movement inside. She carefully returned it to her bag and then pulled out her jacket. She unwrapped it gently.

Status report...anyone injured?" Max said scanning the trainers.

"I'm fine," Alice replied distractedly.

The old amber inside sparkled beautifully in the moonlight. She tilted it this way and that, watching the light play off it. Alice had a wild desire to run off with it, it was so lovely. Instead she snapped a photo, so that she could at least remember it when they returned it to the museum.

As the room began to cave in, Alice grabbed Rose's hand and began to run. Rose followed, not saying a word. Once they had finally escaped, Alice let go of Rose's hand. "Th-thank you." Rose stuttered. Amirah floated slowly behind her, hovering around her in circles. She was clearly shaken, but just the presence of fresh air made her feel better.

"What I saw in there was amazing..we faced our first criminal organization and won." Meghan said.

"Are you saying that this kind of thing happens regularly?" Rose questioned, listening to Meghan's wording. She desperately hoped nothing like that would ever happen again. She hadn't expected being a trainer to be this dangerous. Still though, had it not been for everything that had happened she would not have met the slowking. Still though, after everything the slowking had told her, she was so confused. She had to tell someone, but who would she tell? It was like the psychic type had told her. No one else could truly understand her connection with her partner. How would they be able to help her? They couldn't. She was still as alone as she had always been. She was still trapped behind a black shroud that only Amirah's sensing could get through.

Rose leaned against a tree. "Can we go back to the Pokemon Center?" She asked, conveying little emotion in her voice.

"Hoo-Rah!" Rocky shouted in delight as he saw that the others had escaped unharmed. "That was...intense. I think that is the word I would use to describe it."

"Nathan, I saw your battle. You took out that grunt's entire team with only one Pokemon, and it looks like it barely took a scratch. That was epic. I would have lost mine massively if Rusty here hadn't broken free of that nasty Rocket woman." Rusty was snuggled in Rocky's arms, looking exhausted and weak after the fight.

"Can we go back to the Pokemon Center?" Rose asked

"I could definitely use good rest after that fight." Rosky said to her. "Does anyone know how to use the map function on the Poketech? It should show us where the nearest Pokemon center is."
