Brandon heard about Alice's plan, he thought it was a good one and certainly the only one they had. Brandon looked to Skipper, who was still breathing heavily from the last battle, he asked the Charmeleon "You think you can provide your strongest Smoke Screen at the end of this battle buddy?" Skipper let out a determined "CHARRMEELLEEONN", he could and would do it.

Then they prepared for the 4th and final round, they were each offered a Lemonade, he gratefully accepted. It would help his pokemon go longer then they would have been able to on just the 2 potions.

In a final burst of resilence and determination, Skipper put all his energy into a final huge smokescreen.

As the Smokescreen hit the Bug type, it fell to the ground weezing for a second, then got back to its feet, the smokescreen began to spread throughout the crowd fast, the huge Smokescreen had used up every last bit of energy left in Skipper, upon finishing the smokescreen, the Charemelon fainted. As the Smokescreen began advancing on him, Brandon took out Skipper's pokeball and yelled to the fainted Charmeleon "Well done pal, now come and rest". As he finished the sentence the edge of the smokescreen had reached him, causing him to cough out the last words. Brandon pulled the top of his shirt tightly or his nose and mouth as the smokescreen hit him full force, even so, he coughed and hacked furiously. He just hoped the destraction had worked.

Alice came over to Rose and began to say something about going out with a bang. "So, you're saying we shouldn't go down without a fight?" Rose questioned. The hint had gone right over her head.

Rose became anxious as the next round began. Her team had been nearly wiped out from the last battle alone, and her next opponent was even stronger. She had 3 potions and two other healing items at her disposal. She knew if she wanted any chance of making it through, it would likely take all five of them.

Rose began to panic. She was down to the very last of her Pokemon. She noticed the smoke screen go up, but thought nothing of it. It didn't impair her senses too much. She noticed Rocky running through the smoke, but didn't question it. She was too focused on the battle to take her attention away for even a moment.

Rose backed up and leaned against the nearest tree/structure/whatever was there. Her legs felt weak. Surely she should have seen this coming. She was the weakest one in the group. How would she be able to win?

Suddenly she felt a shaking from her bag. She opened the bag to see that her egg was moving. ~~For a moment, she was sure that it was ready to hatch, but in the end it settled down. Was something wrong with it?~~ While Rose couldn't detect the egg's glowing, she did notice something was changing. A moment later, the egg cracked.

Rocky waited by the edge of the crowd waiting for the commotion to begin. He looked at the positions of the trainers ahead on the bridge and planned a route that would allow him to bypass them, hopefully unnoticed.

The rounds started and the crowd started cheering. Rocky cheered along despite the butterfrees in his stomach. Then it stared. Alice sent out a stun spore attack that started to grow in size and head over the crowd.

As the stun spore attack started to hit the crowd Meg and Brandon each used smokescreen, which like the stun spore spread over the crowd. Rocky made his move. Starting with a casual but fast walk, faking a cough he started to wards the other end of the bridge.

The panic in the crowd helped to mask his movement and he used the chaos to his advantage. Eventually the smokescreen enveloped his senses and he wasn't sure which way to go. He stopped to try to get his bearings, but couldn't work out which way to run. He realised that he couldn't make it.

Then something grabbed his leg and started climbing up to his shoulder. "Ack, Ack!" said Alice's Archen as it climbed up to his shoulder, flapping it's wings to help clear the smoke and spores. It pointed confidently in a direction and Rocky decided to trust it. He sprinted in the direction the Archen pointed. He sprinted across the bridge until suddenly he was out of the smoke and spores.

He dived into some bushes on the other side of the bridge and then carefully looked back to see if anyone was following.

Smokescreens poured out of every direction. It took a while for the area to clear. A figure approached Alice through the smog. It was Meg!

"That was pretty tough." She smiled fixing her hair.

Alice smiled back. "How did you go?" she asked. She hadn't been able to see the end of Meg's battle. As she spoke, Alice looked around for Rocky, but she couldn't see him. She felt a claw grab onto her leg. Plume was back.

"All good?" Alice asked.

"Ack!" Plume nodded happily.

Alice felt relieved. She hoped Rocky would be able to find the base on his own.

Rocky was pretty pleased with himself. He had made it across the bridge and it seemed that no-one was follolwing. He started to relax. Pulling out the Poketech he worked out which direction he had to go in.

Suddenly there was a rustlein the bushes he looked up and saw a Pancham staring at him with it's hands on it's hips.

"Pan?" asked the Pancham.

"Shh, I need to be very quiet. I am trying to find a secret base." Rocky said looking at the Pancham and putting a finger to his lips.

"Pan!" the Pancham whispered, mimicking Rocky's finger to the lips.

"Good boy!" Said Rocky.

The Pancham put it's hands on its hips again and gave Rocky a glare.

"Good Girl?" Rocky said.

The Pancham nodded.

"OK well I need to be going. Thanks for not making any noise." Rocky stared to crawl north away from the bridge, keeping his head down and out of sight.

The Pancham got down on all fours and started following.

"Are you coming with me?" Rocky asked.

The Pancam smiled and nodded. "Pancham!" it said pointing to its chest.

Rocky smiled and pointed to his own chest. "Rocky!" With that taken care of Rocky and the Pancham started to make their way towards the marker on the map where Max's secret base should be.

After a long awhile, the smokescreen cleared and Brandon could safely remove his shirt from his face. He did so and took a LONG deep breath of fresh air. Then he looked around, he noticed Alice and Meghan talking, he glanced over at the edge of the crowd where he last saw Rocky, he didn't see him, maybe the plan had worked afterall, Skipper's courageous sacrifice had not been a waste. He looked around the battle area they had been battling in, he noticed Rose standing a short distance away, she seemed sad. Brandon walked over to her "Rose? What is the matter? How did your battle go? I lost mine, but my Charmeleon Skipper let off a heck of a smokescreen as his last action before fainting." He gave her a wink, to demostrate that the smokescreen had been for the plan, then he wondered if her sensing ability could pick up winks, he would feel bad if it couldnt.

@Bretltes im going to control Pancham here for a little bit.

Pancham wasnt from around this area. In fact Pancham mostly lived in Kalos. Rocky didnt seem to know ( ;) ) what pokemon were native to this region or he might after stopped to ask where this pokemon came from. Instead he continued along trying to locate a hidden fortress. (So its understood rocky isnt getting in..lol) Pancham already knew where it was at but followed the lost trainer anyways. when the two got close to where it should be Pancham disappeared into the bushes out of sight. After a few minutes it appeared.

"Cham?" It questioned pointing towards an odd looking bush.

Meanwhile

As the group talked among themselves and the smoke cleared. The announcer came through calling everyones attention.

"It looks like we have a challenger advancing to the final round." He called out.

" To make this final battle fair the trainer will be allowed to heal their pokemon to give the champion a proper challenge!" He continued.

"Introducing our challenger in the ranger gear..." He paused looking at Meg for her name.

"Meghan.." she said confused.

"Introducing Ranger Meghan! and now to introduce your hero and champion....the master of disaster, the queen of the damned herself, Cyan!!"

The tall trainer with beautiful appeared from back. She walked with confidence keeping her eyes focused on not only Meghan but the others that came with her.

" Welcome to the final battle young lady...Please dont mistake all the flash for overconfidence.. You will need every bit of your training to keep up with me. I am one of a few trainers to win multiple region championships. I trained with the now fallen league champ Max."

Alice stepped away, giving Meg room. She scratched Plume absent-mindedly while wondering about Rocky. She hoped he was doing alright.

Charmeleon nodded headed out.

Meghan looked across the battling area at Cyan. She then looked around taking in the fact that she was battling a former league champ on a bridge. She then looked down at the rubber band on her wrist. She had placed it there as a reminder that she had to find Max to figure out what was going on.

Meghan looked back at Cyan with determination.

" lets heat things up! Kaze Flamethrower!"

The miltank began to roll out on the bridge. The heavy wooden planks began to shake as Miltank slammed right into the bug type knocking it back. Before Heracross could do anything the powerful normal type circled back around to hit it again.

" Sappy get off the ground !!" Meghan called out. Sappy nodded flying up the in the air.

Cyan smiled.
"You think thats going to stop us!"

"Mill build some speed and jump it!"

The miltank circled around using a railing shot into the air right at the exhausted bug.

" Hold steady !" Meghan called out.

"Counter!"

Sappy reached out catching the ball and with a powerful blow sent Miltank into the bridge blow knocking it out. Sappy flew back to Meghan. The big bug was tired but happy.
"That was so amazing." She said rubbing its head.

"Lets keep this going ! Rei your up!" She said tossing the pokeball into the air.

Meghan pulled out Sammy's pokeball calling out the little pink fairy type.
" Milotic knocked out our friend Sting. Lets make sure he didnt faint for no reason."

The three headed monster flew around letting out a might growl.

Meghan planted her feet looking at the excited Jigglypuff.

Meghan looked over at the tired Sappy.
"This thing is tough but you are my Sappy. My powerful fighter who can hang in their through anything." Meghan said looking him in the eyes.
"I believe in you Sappy! Lets have some fun."

The two pokemon went head to head Kaze fought much harder than Cyan had expected. With a flame thrower from charmeleon and a dragon pulse from Cyan the battle was over. To their shock the battle had ended in a tie. Meg was at a loss for words running over to collect Kaze. Cyan stood their stunned...
"I didnt win.." She said taking a couple of steps back.

The announcer was speechless
" ......umm..."

He paused

"We have a ....Tie! Which means we have a winner!! Meghan!" He called out.

"In the case of a tie the challenger is awarded the win however Cyan retains her roll as champion of the bridge. What an exciting battle!" He called out.

The crowd started to applause for the awesome battle they had just saw.

Meghan sat on the ground with Kaze.
"You did amazing." she said to the weak pokemon.

As she stood up she looked over at Cyan who was standing there with the sun setting just behind her. She slowly walked over.
" That wasnt the outcome I was looking for...You battle with a lot of spirit. Your strategy and understanding of your pokemon is something I didnt expect. In fact as I watched your friends battle I was very impressed that they made it as far as they did. Here we prefer fully evolved beat downs but you and your team used under evolved pokemon with good match ups. I must say I am impressed but now determined more than ever to be better. You and I will meet again in battle I can guarantee that. "

She paused pulling out a pokeball.

"It is a tradition to gift a pokemon to winner of this tournament. " Cyan handed over the pokeball.

"Maybe we should post a sign. That says you are free to pass." She continued laughing.
