Rose followed Meghan back to meet up with the others. It was explained that they were looking for a secret base Max had set up so they could use it to locate upgrade. As they were walking, Meghan mentioned something about a vision Brandon had had. She said that he had told her something serious was coming. Rose was visibly startled. "Something coming?" Rose Questioned. "Could this be related to what that Slowking told me about?" She thought. The only person she ever told about what the Slowking had told only to her was Max, and now he was gone. Thinking about Max again began to make her upset. She pushed the thought out of her head, returning her focus to what Meghan had said.

The walk to Route 24 took a little while. The north route leading over the lake had been known for its beautiful bluffs overlooking the surrounding body of water. In the far edge of the route the light house could be seen. As they reached overpass they noticed a group of trainers lined up. It looked they would need to battle to get through it. As the boys had warned it seemed that the bridge was a ranked system. Four battles each just to reach the leader battle. Part of Meg like the idea of battling, but the other half knew they needed to stay focused on the mission at hand.

"Hopefully this doesnt take to long.." She said looking at the crowd.

As they walked into the crowd they heard lots of chit chat about the Sons of Arcanine



"Welcome to the Route 24 Challange.. former ladder of the Sons of Arcanine and the proud ladder of the dis-horned Pokemon League Champion Max. Now the home to the trainer that defeated him! The queen of the damned, the mistress of destruction, the legend slayer herself, Cyan!" He shouted

He looked at the five trainers.
"Are you here to join in the tournament? If so let me tell you about the tournament. Years ago this use to be a daily tournament that was built on a ladder system. At the time the old guard of the Sons controlled the bridge. For months holding power over it and all passers. Until the league champion and Misty put it all on the line and battle for not only control of the bridge but for control of the Sons. In the faithful battle the two teamed up and shocked Kanto by taking down the leadership of Sons. Once the old guard was out Max changed the rules. His new rules said each trainer must battle through four trainers consecutively if the trainers wins they can advance and battle the leader. If however they are traveling in a group, they each need to battle four people but only one of them needs to defeat the bridges leagder. If that person wins they can pass, however if somehow they fail the whole team gets sent back. Is this clear?"

The first round of the bridge was home to the younger trainers.

As the group walked north, Alice told Meg and Rose all about the conversation with Misty. She showed them the little flashing red dot on her Poketech which would lead them to the base.

Eventually they reached a bridge. A tough looking guy told the group that they would need to battle 4 rounds of trainers, and one of them would need to defeat the leader. A group of young trainers seemed to be their first opponents.

"You guys ready for this?" Alice asked the group. "Ack!" her Archen squawked from her shoulder, flapping his short wings.

"Wow, five battles in a row. That sounds intense!" Rocky said looking at the trainers lined up in front of them.

Then he smiled. "This is just like a Pokemon league championship. Let's get this done!"

He called out Rusty, who looked around at the large group of trainers making sure that there was no threat to Rocky. Once she was sure that no-one was threatening her trainer she shyly hid behind his legs and looked out to see what was going on.

"We are going to have some battles Rusty. What do you think, are you ready for a fight?"

"OK team, Roll call" he said and called his team out.

Rusty, Behemoth and Fury still had growth spurts to come, but Sniper, Speedy and Professor were as evolved as they were going to be. "OK Professor, Sniper and speedy. Lets improve your defense against special moves. Take your vitamins and lets see what you can do."

The young girl sent out a Pikachu. He smiled and sent Professor needles into battle. The opponent Pikachu, to its credit, tired it's best, but all of its electric attacks simply rolled off Professor's back. It started to use more physical attacks and did some damage, but Professor had the advantage and used it to deliver a double kick that sent the Pikachu flying out of the battle zone.

Speedy was quick enough to dodge most, but not all of the Abra's psybeam attacks. It was a close battle, but Speedy's experience won in the end.

Alice looked over at Rocky. He seemed to be giving his Pokemon vitamins to bulk them up. She grabbed a Pokeball from her belt. "Good luck!" she called to the boy. "Memento! Let's see what you can do!"

The Mawile appeared in a flash. She looked a bit scared of the Tentacool. "You're immune to Poison types," Alice told her. "Just do your best!"

It was a good battle. Memento had obviously had previous training. She did her best to dodge Tentacool's water attacks, and her immunity to Poison helped her overcome her opponent.

"That was wonderful!" Alice said after the battle. "Our first battle together! You did so well. There was nothing to be afraid of, right?"

"Maww," the Mawile blushed and looked at her feet.

"Take a rest now," Alice said, returning her. "Alright, time to give Tyrunt another turn!"

Alice's opponent sent out a Golbat.

The little rock dino appeared, snorting and snapping his jaws. He locked onto the Golbat immediately, as it flapped in the air.

"You'll need to use long range rock attacks," Alice coached. She wasn't sure if the Tyrunt was listening. Before she could say any more, it sped into battle.

*I am just going to write the walk to the bridge and the set up writing for the battle, I am busy at the moment (waiting for the bus to go to school) but I dont want to not post, so I will edit in the battle later, when I get home.*

As the group walked along, Brandon wanted to hand out the rest of the berries, but everyone seemed focused on getting to the secret base Max had. Alice began telling Meghan about what Misty had said to them.


After a short while, the group reached the bridge, they were met by a group of trainers that seemed to be motorcyclists, the leader of their group (atleast he seened to be the leader) and began talking, explaining the rules of what they need to do to cross the bridge. It seemee they each needed to battle a trainer each. Then someone from their group, presumably their strongest would have to battle leadrr and win so they could cross the bridge. As tfhis was being exlained, Brandon let out the rest of his team. Brandon began tell Skipper and tfhe rest of his team, their would be a battle. Skipper began conversing with Marshtomp, then the 2 seeked to have figured out a plan and began to teoo the rest of the team. Then a trainer from the opposing group came up and let his pokemon. Brandon's pokemon formed up and prepared for the fight. After a few moments, Skipper looked back at Brandon, seemly requesting permission to attack. To which Brandon said to all his pokemon "Ok guys, if your ready, then you may begin the attack!" Then it began.
