Alice was tempted to slip off into the Haze, but she knew it was futile. Mills' Pokemon were way too powerful.

Once Gengar spotted the guru and Drowzee, the group stayed back so Mills could deal with it.

The Drowzee group still made Alice nervous. She fidgeted on the spot, head down, kicking her shoe into the dirt while they waited. She could hear the guru yelling angrily through the Haze as Mills freed the Drowzee from his control.

As the Haze dispersed, Mills came into view with the Drowzee and the now handcuffed guru. Before Alice could panic, the Drowzee said their goodbyes to Mills and disappeared. Were they really good Pokemon afterall? Alice thought. She had misjudged them, just like her friends.

"Drow Drowzee!" Alice heard the call from the opposite direction.

"I-it's you!" Alice said, surprised. The female Drowzee which had helped her earlier had returned.

Alice felt less nervous now that there was only one of them. And this Drowzee had done its best to help her. Without its help, she may never have caught up to Marius and gotten Aster back. She still felt a bit uncomfortable, but didn't want to look weak in front of Mills.

"Thanks again for your help, Drowzee," Alice said.

"Drowzee?" the Pokemon replied, head tilted. She motioned to Alice.

"D- Drowzee... would you like to come with me?" she asked. She felt her heart beat faster. But she knew this was a lesson she had to learn. If she wanted to be a professor she couldn't be scared of Pokemon.

Alice stepped toward the Drowzee and reached out a slightly shaking hand clutched tight around a Pokeball.

The Drowzee stepped forward, touching her hand. Alice did her best not to flinch. The Drowzee's hand was surprisingly soft and warm. As it brushed against the Pokeball, the Drowzee disappeared inside.

Officer Mills stopped the man who was obviously out to get revenge on the Drowzee who had mind controlled him 2 days ago. The old man seemed overly agressive and angry ... perhaps tha was one of teh side-effects of being mind-controlled by the Drowzee.

The group of Drowzee gave a thankyou to officer Mills, but glared at Rocky as they moved off, letting him know that they were not happy with him. Rocky was OK with that as he glared right back letting them know that he wasn't intimidated by them at all.

Suddenly from behind the group Rocky heard "Drow Drowzee!" He jumped and turned expecting a Drowzee ambush. Instead of the viscious 5 Drowzee, it was a friendly looking Drowzee talking to Alice. She took its hand and it disapeared into her Pokeball.

Alice seemed happy with her new Pokemon and Rocky was happy for her. He looked at the old man chained up next to Officer Mills and wondered what his story was.

There was a cracking sound from within Rocky's backpack, and the sound of something crying out.

"Wait a second everybody. There's something happening in my backpack." He pulled off his back to look inside. His Pokemon egg was cracking and starting to open.

As they were walking, Alice came and asked her if she had heard from Meghan. Rose shook her head. "I haven't." She said quietly, trying not to alert the detective. Trying not to trip over anything, Rose lagged behind slightly, but she was able to mostly keep up with the group.

Finally they found the guru. Rose couldn't clearly sense what was happening from where she was, but she could sense quick movement, and suddenly the Guru was yelling. Rose began approaching, but suddenly she felt herself flying forward as her foot got hooked on a tree root she hadn't noticed. She reached out to her left trying to catch herself on a branch, but she misjudged the distance, and her fingertips brushed it as she fell past it and hit the ground. "I'm... I'm okay." She said, standing back up. She scraped her arm, but aside from that she was okay.

As the haze started fading, Rose could clearly tell that this was the same guru from earlier. Rose approached the drowzee. "I'm... I'm sorry." Rose said to them, but it didn't seem to matter to them. Rose felt horrible for having attacked them the day before when they really did only want to help. Her apology meant nothing to them.

Hours on the final stretch of this route. The team had now come full circle and ended up in the same spot they were over a day ago. All the smiles and laughs they had hours ago would have died out. Each trainer was now facing there own version of stress, anger, and confusion. How they reacted depended on the person. However they were all facing the same truth. They were now on there way to being dropped off in police custody. To make things worse they would be treated no different then the gagged Guru when they got there.

One thing they had noticed though was there was no check point entering Vermilion through route 11. The check point must have been that building they past leaving and just hours ago coming back. The group got lucky that Mills had got them through without picking up handcuffs and a second possibly third escort. Mills had insisted he was in control. The others took him for his word and let them pass. Mills smiled stepping foot back on the paved walk way.
"Have you ever been to Tauros Steak House? Dont worry they dont serve the pokemon there.." He laughed looking at the kids.

"Either way its good stuff. Once you guys clear up this mess you should go there. Its my favorite place to stop whenever Im here. As for you." He paused looking at the Guru.
"Your going to be enjoying the finest prision food Vermilion City has to offer and then my guess is your going to be put on a ferry sent back to whatever hole you crawled out of. " He joked grabbing the cuffs tighter and moving the man forward.

By this time Arcanine was back out after getting some sleep. All the others were now back in there pokeballs resting.

With the Police station in sight the team had finally run out of time. As they walked towards the building a loud explosion echoed through the air. At first the other people on the street all just looked around confused. There was an ere silence hanging in the air. Then as if time had just sped up people started to run. Some towards the explosion others in the opposite direction. Mills dragged the guru over to a pole and handcuffed him to it. He then looked at the kids.

"I need to see what this is. Please stay out of harms way. I wont hold against you if you flee for your saftey but I will have to track you down again." Mills said letting them know they should get to safety. He however didnt slow down quickly turning and running towards whatever the mess was. It the background the sounds of people calling for help echoed.

After he finished yelling, the detective silenced him. Then sent out a ghost type pokemon to find the guru. Not long afterward, the group began to move, following the ghost type, then they found the guru and detective Mills moved in swiftly and arrested him. As the guru was arrested, Brandon couldn't help but laugh, he said to the man aloud "See what you get for being a lying, slick, trickster? You get to go to jail! Your getting what you deserve you old piece of dirt! Now, are you gonna give us our money back? Or did ya spend it already like the trash you are you?" Brandon didn't expect an answer and wasn't given one either. Soon the group was moving again, a couple hours later they were nearing the police station and Brandon took a deep breath and looked around, breathing in the natural air, watching the birds fly, watching the wind blow through the trees, watching the clouds move through the sky and he finally he took one last look at the sun that was beaming overhead, he wanted to have one last look before he went to prison, for god knew how long. He knew he would get out and see the free world again, but it probably wouldn't be for awhile. As Brandon turned away from the sun, he said a small silent prayer, that they be able to find some out of this situation and be able to the mini sentence possible. Moments later, as if god had heard him and decided to grant his wish, an explosion rang out, followed by another. Detective Mills handcuffed the guru to a tree and then ran off to investigate what was going on, he said he wouldn't hold it against them if they ran. Once the detective was out of sight, Brandon immediately sprang into action, he picked up some dirt from a nearby grass strip, he rubbed it on his clothes, shoes and face. He ran his hand through his hair to mess it all up, then he pulled up the hood of his sweater and pulled the strings tight. Then he wrinkled his jeans, once this was done, he said aloud to the others "Come on guys, we got to move! This is our one chance to remain free and escape. If we move now, we could blend into the panicking crowd and escape that way".

Rocky lifted the Cracking pokemon egg out of his bag and was delighted to watch it break open.

He had witnessed a few eggs hatching during his internship, but this was his first egg hatching. He excitedly watched as the the top cracked open and a little Pokemon opened its eyes to look up at him.

The strange little Pokemon climbed out of the egg and looked around. It was curious and wanted to explore the area.

"Come here little one." Rocky said gently and picked up the Mime Jr. "We have to move back to Vermillion. You can watch the scenery as we walk."

The little Mime Jr. sat in Rocky's arms watching the area for half an hour and then cruled up and went to sleep. Rocky took out a Pokeball and the Pokemon was absorbed into it. He put it away to rest.

The rest of the trip hurried by until the were finally back in Vermillion. Officer Mills suggested a steak house once they cleared up thsi legal mess, which sounded like a good idea to Rocky. They were moving through the peaceful streets towards where they could hopefully clear their names.

Suddenly an explosion boomed through the area.

"I need to see what this is. Please stay out of harms way. I wont hold against you if you flee for your saftey but I will have to track you down again." Mills said to the group as he ran towards the sound of the explosion. People were running everywhere trying to get to safety.

Rocky started to take off after Officer Mills to go and help get people clear of the explosion. Then he realised that the otehrs hadn't moved yet.

"Come on guys, we got to move! This is our one chance to remain free and escape. If we move now, we could blend into the panicking crowd and escape that way". Brandon said, urging them to run the other way.

"You mean run and prove that we are criminals? That will make things much, much worse. We need to go and help clear people from that explosion. 'The number one asset any business has is goodwill'", Rocky quoted the lectures his father had given him on business dealings. "We go in there and we will gain a whole pile of goodwill, or we run and make Mills and that Arcanine chase us, and lose any goodwill we previously had. Clearing our names will be a lot easier if we help out here."

Alice looked from Brandon to Rocky. It was a hard decision.

"Mills' Arcanine has our scent now," she said sadly. "That thing is fast and can track us practically anywhere. If we all split up, maybe some of us could escape... but Rocky's right, it would make us all look guilty. Mills hasn't been bad so far. I get the feeling that he might even believe us once we get a chance to explain..." It was the only hope Alice had right now. "We'll never make it to Lavender in time now. Our only hope is convincing Mills and maybe getting his help to clear our names. I vote for staying to help too. But if you want to go, Brandon, I understand. If you do, you should try and find Meg." Alice said. "I have a feeling something's gone wrong..."

As the explosion sounded, Rose suddenly froze, startled. It took her a second to recover and see that Mills was running towards the sound of the explosion. Already, Brandon was getting ready to run, but Rocky spoke up to disagree. "The number one asset any business has is goodwill." Rocky said, and Alice seemed to agree. Rose agreed that they should help. She would feel guilty if she ran now after the detective had given them trust and been so hospitable. Bringing us in was just part of his job. Rose felt that he believed that they were innocent. Even beyond the fact that running would make them look guilty, Rose would feel that they would be betraying the trust that he had given them by running. "I think we should go help him." Rose said. "But I think that it's important we stay together, regardless of what we do."

The team made up there mind and it was to go see if they could help. They ran towards the chaos and it wasnt long until they saw exactly what was going on. Mills was already blocks ahead of them. From where they stood on main street they could see smoke raising from a two or three burning cars. A trainer running away called out.

"Its Surge..and his men!" He called out running passed.

The loud sound of exploding continued until they figured out what was going on. Coming out of the smoke came a group of rolling pokemon. As they spread out they began to explode. The towns folks ran in all direction to get away from the blasts.

While all of this was a lot. The damage seemed to be limited to the main street heading to the gym.

Brandon was now getting frustated, Rocky tried to foolishly convince them to jump in and save everyone to 'clear their names'. Brandon let out a sad sigh and shook his head "Don't you guys get it? Whoever wants this manhunt for us is very powerful, if they want us to be guilty and lock us up, then their gonna do it regardless of we what do to prove our innonence. We have been playing hero all this time and where has it gotten us? It has gotten us to be Kanto's most wanted! I am sorry, but I am sick of playing hero only to be made to look more like a criminal each time. The only thing we can do is run, we can't beat this justice system, its rigged and too powerful.... Alice I know he has our scent, but I know how to handle that issue... You see, if you go through water, like a lake, stream or else a big puddle, it will wash away our scent, problem solved. I think we can hide somewhere deep in vermillion, maybe we can find Brock's number and call him, we could ask him to ask his contact if he could meet us at our hiding spot, where he could work his magic. In order to have ANY chance to do this, or to be free, we have to move NOW!"


Brandon hoped he could convince the others to flee, he knew they would stand no chance against the criminal justice system, if they stayed it would certainly mean jail time. Brandon was not going to ruin his and everyone else's chance, very well their LAST chance, of escape, just to try and be a hero again, only to be more criminalized AGAIN.

As Brandon finished speaking, the group began following Mills anyway. Brandon sighed, he stood still for a second, wondering whether to escape, or go with the group, after a minute of hesistation, he followed the group.
