The next expansion to the XY Break block has now officially been revealed. BREAKpoint will be the next TCG set which will be release in early 2016. This set will be based on the Japanese TCG set ‘Rage of the Broken Sky’ and a few other Japanese TCG products.
BREAKpoint will introduce several new cards into the format and even more BREAK Pokemon. There will be five new BREAK Pokemon which will include: Trevenant BREAK, Greninja BREAK, Luxray BREAK and more! BREAKpoint will also have eleven new EX Pokemon such as Gyarados EX and Scizor EX. Both of these Pokemon will feature Mega Evolutions into Mega Gyarados EX and Mega Scizor EX. Lastly, there will be seventeen new Trainer cards and a new Special Energy card introduce in BREAKpoint.
BREAKpoint will also include two new theme decks – Wave Slasher and Electric Eye.
As mention before, BREAKpoint will be based on Japan’s ‘Rage of the Broken Sky’. That set had about eight EX Pokemon and three BREAK Pokemon. That means that three EX Pokemon and two BREAK Pokemon will be coming out from other Japanese side products. They did took Luxray BREAK from ‘Double Mega BREAK Set: M Aerodactyl EX + M Mawile EX + Luxray BREAK’. If that is the case then we could see Mawile EX and M Mawile EX being release though BREAKpoint. Seeing that this set is focus around Water type Pokemon, we may have ‘BREAK Battle Deck: Golduck BREAK + Palkia-EX’. This could count for one of each EX and BREAK Pokemon with Golduck BREAK and Palkia EX. If that is the case then there could be a reprint of Max Potion. If we include both Japanese Break deck and/or set then that would bring our EX count to eleven and number of BREAK Pokemon to four. Though this is only a guess and we are still missing a BREAK Pokemon which could come from other side Japanese TCG products.
