Does the Pokedex act like a living dex? In other words, if I evolve my Ivysaur again, will the team lose Ivysaur from the dex and it just gets replaced by Venusaur therefore not giving a net increase?

If that's not the case I'll evolve my Ivysaur, but if it is I'll evolve my Spearow. Thanks

I'll go ahead and get the BEST KANTO STARTER, excluding Bulbasaur Charmander (apple). I'll also found a lovely Caterpie I'd like as well.

And, unless I need to do anything else, might I be able to evolve both of them?

No, I don't believe it does. I'm 99.9999% sure it's just like a regular dex. In the list of who owns what Pokemon, I'm going off of who actually OWNS that Pokemon at the time. So like if you evolved a Charmander you now have a Charmeleon, not Charmander. But it's obviously still registered in the team's Pokedex, hence why there are some Pokemon that are blank since no one on that team actually OWNS one as of when it was last updated.

Oh man I've got a lot to catch up on! By the way since the rest of my teammates have the starter evolutions covered, I'm just going to get a Squirtle and evolve Clefairy!

@Gef: good question. I myself am not really sure if new recruits get the benefits from challenges previously completed before they joined, so I'll have to ask @Pokemon Trainer Sarah just to be safe! Until then I'll just get you your Charmander and Caterpie. c:
