I guess as kids our kids are more prone to wanting entertainment, when as adults, our minds seek out a sort of "learning" thing rather than just entertainment. I remember in Secret of NIMH, there were a few parts that got me wincing as a kid. The one with the rat getting injected was something that made me a bit squeamish, along with the part where the villain rat gets hit in the back with a throwing knife. Okay, those are a little bit more understandable (the movie even had blood despite it being a cartoon), but if I were to see that now, I'd be like "yeah, whatever." With the kind of stuff I've seen since then, that's laughably mild now.

Game glitches freaked me out as a kid. Same thing with other weird, scrambling effects, even if they were intentional. Again, understandable to a kid who thinks something like that could happen in real life, but now, it's just a minor annoyance, and mostly in the fact that usually it means a game reset is needed and I've lost all my progress.
