I think there are a lot of things like that, that we don't even realise. xD
The other day my grandma was telling me when she first came to Australia, someone invited her to a BBQ and told her to "bring a plate". So she brought an empty plate along because she thought it meant they didn't have enough plates for everyone, rather than to bring some food. xD
I live in Scotland, so people sometimes don't understand my Scottish things. Like "jobby". Nobody gets that one.
While we're on topic, Canadians actually do say "eh?" a fair amount, at least from my experience.

I tend to come off as possibly Canadian in other IRC channels because, well, eh... Darn it!
I am from Canada and I never say "eh", nor know people who do! People who live in Newfoundland tend to say it but not in most of the country. :)
My family from Canada say eh quite a lot and then it rubs off onto me...lol.
