I'm thinking that the Kabutops is a little too transparent here...so in other words, it blends in with the background a little too much. And with the paint splatters, it was actually difficult to see what the Pokemon was on my phone.

I'd say to use contrasting colors more. Maybe use a different color scheme, because Kabutops' color scheme is pretty monochromatic as is. Try to use a different color arrangement, such as complimentary So, for instance, maybe try a shade of blue? It won't be too out of place since it IS a water type.

I think the Caterpie is also pretty invisible, especially given that you used the original sprite at its original size. It'd be cool if it was a shiny Caterpie on that background, but Idk what Calebs policy is with shinies. :P
