Pokemon Bank Users to receive Hidden Ability Johto Starters Soon

The Pokemon Company International has just announced that users of Pokemon Bank will receive the Hidden Ability Johto starters soon. Users who access Pokemon Bank with either Pokemon X, Pokemon Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby, or Pokemon Alpha Sapphire from February 27th to November 27th, 2015 will be able to obtain all 3 of the Johto starters.

Meganium comes with the Hidden Ability of Leaf Guard. Leaf Guard protects the Pokemon from status conditions when under harsh or extremely harsh sunlight. This Meganium comes with the move Sunny Day, allowing it to take advantage of its Hidden Ability.

Typhlosion’s Hidden Ability is Flash Fire. Flash Fire ups the power of Fire-type moves by 50% if the Pokemon was hit by a Fire-type move. This Typhlosion comes with 3 Fire-type moves.

Feraligatr has the Hidden Ability of Sheer Force. Sheer Force removes any addition effects of Feraligatr’s attacks but they will do 30% more damage. This Feraligatr knows the moves Ice Punch, Crunch, and Waterfall. Sheer Force won’t allow Ice Punch the chance to freeze, and Crunch won’t be able to lower the foe’s Defense stat, and Waterfall won’t have the chance to flinch.

Meganium, Typhlosion, and Feraligatr will be obtained via Pokemon Link in your copy of Pokemon X, Pokemon Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby, or Pokemon Alpha Sapphire after accessing Pokemon Bank starting on February 27th.

Wow, finally! These guys really needed their HAs. They really haven't aged well, and still aren't much better. They really need some Megas. :(

I have updated this to include their moves as Pokemon.co.jp has revealed them. Meganium gets Synthesis, Body Slam, Solar Beam, and Sunny Day. Typhlosion gets Overheat, Flame Charge, Flame Wheel, and Swift. Feraligatr gets Ice Punch, Crunch, Waterfall and Screech.

Ah, pretty sweet. It's possible that Meganium and Typhlosion may be used a bit more, but I'm more interested to see how Feraligatr rises. It's certainly not Contrary Serperior, but Dragon Dance and Sheer Force can hit really hard.
