Shuppet had appeared in front of the trainers out of thin air. It seemed as is if all the commotion on the other side of the park and scared it. As Shupper and Bulbasuar the team failed to notice the true cause of the ghost types fair.



The group had no idea that lurking in the bushes was a true predator and as far as it was concerned Alice and her bulbasaur had just taken dont its prey. As the group continued into the thick of Route 1 the creature followed them finally making its move.

Absol moved incredible fast towards the group from behind. Before they could react the creature swung its head


The now glowing blade sent a wave of energy out that cut down the grass. The team barely got clear of its path.

As Sarah celebrated with her new teammate and Aster, the group walking further along the route, Tyler felt uneasy. There had to have been more reason for Alice's new Shuppet to be so scared, right? Sure, there were Tauros in the area, but... There weren't actually any sign of the Tauros in the south-west area of the route. Before Tyler or any of the others could react, there was an echoing swoosh from behind. An Absol stood behind them, glaring at the group. The blade on its head was now glowing - the very same blade sent a wave of energy out that cut down the grass directly in front of the team Tyler leapt to the side. The other two barely stepped clear of its path. As the blade of energy stormed by, Tyler puled himself up to his feet, watching the creature.

"Okay, Phyre, it's time we fight a real predator!" Tyler shouted, Phyre leaping next to Tyler's side. Tyler smiled confidently, staring down the Absol in front of him. Its blade was still glowing, but it was keeping back. It was focusing on Alice, growling. "Huh... Alice, keep back!" Tyler shouted over to her. "The Absol is all eyes on you at the moment, I think it was chasing after your Shuppet!" Tyler looked back over to the Absol, or rather, to the Absol that was charging right at him. He leapt out of the way again, Phyre barely avoiding direct contact with the wolf-like hunter.

"Okay, Phyre! Let's do this! Get this creature trapped in a Fire Spin!" Phyre swept towards the Absol, shooting a blazing tornado of fire towards it. The Absol was caught in the twister, crying out at being trapped. Tyler grinned. "That's a good start Phyre. Lets move in closer for some direct attacks. Scratch!" Phyre charged forwards, claws shining. As it closed in on Absol, the creature swung its head to its side, ripping apart the spiral of fire and freeing itself. It swung its own claws at Phyre, matching it for speed.

"Hah!" Tyler glared. "This thing is tough..." He shook his head, staring again. "Let's try a Pokeball!" Tyler threw a Pokeball at Absol. He watched the ball impact the floor. It wobbled once, twice... Tyler stared , eager, before a deep blast of red shone from the ball, Absol standing back where it was. It let out a deep roar, another energy blade shot towards Tyler and Phyre. Tyler managed to avoid it again but the blade careered into Phyre. He was flung back to the floor. The Absol raced over, claws ready to slash into Phyre.

"Okay, Phyre! Leap up and Scratch it! You can do this!" As Absol leapt towards Phyre, the small lizard pulled itself up just enough to parry the blow with one set of claws, the other digging into the side of Absol. It let out another cry and crumpled to the floor next to Phyre. Tyler grinned, another Pokeball in hand. He threw it straight at Absol, the Pokemon enveloped once again in a red light. The Pokeball hit the floor and wobbled three times, sparking after the final wobble. This time, Tyler had it. He jumped up triumphantly.

"Game, set and match!" He shouted, grinning widely. He looked down to Phyre, the Charmander panting next to him but with a slight smile on its face. "You did excellently, Phyre. I'm proud of you. get some rest, eh?" He returned Phyre to his Pokeball, moving to pick up Absol's. "You... you shall be Zar'roc."

Tyler smiled over at Alice. "That was a close one... That Absol is strong!" He then looked at Davis, still smiling. "And you next hopefully. I wonder what you'll find!"

Alice jumped to the side just as a pulse of energy shot past them and reduced the long grass to smithereens. She looks around, panicky, for Aster and was glad to see that he was safe. Alice looked over her shoulder and saw a large white cat-like Pokemon with black appendages. Her PokeDex rumbled but she didn't have time to check it. Maybe if she stayed still, the Pokemon would go away. Aster was still tired from the battle with Shuppet. She looked over at Tyler, hoping that he could handle this one. It definitely looked tougher than any Pokemon she had seen in Kanto so far.

Tyler didn't hesistate. Alice was impressed by his fearlessness. Tyler's Charmander, Phyre, battled hard, using a combination of Fire and Normal type moves to bring Absol down. There was a tense moment when the Absol broke free of the ball, but then Tyler had it!

"That was a close one... That Absol is strong!" Tyler smiled.

"Wow, no kidding! You and Phyre are a great team." Alice grinned, she felt more confident in their little group now that she had seen how powerful her team mate was. She wondered what would appear next, and hoped that Davis would be ready for it. "I wonder how the other groups are going," she thought aloud.

*Not ready for capture just yet man.. Wait for the Wild Pokemon appears and the pokemon info. Until then.. Also you have one of th strongest megas. Its going to take more then a scratch attack ;)


Tyler smiled as the ball stop shaking he joked with his partners about the next capture. The ball cracked and the light shot out.


Absol came back out. Not more furious then ever. The prideful pokemon took a few steps back taking a deep breath.

it then lept in the air sending blades all around the group.

Tyler got hit in the arm tearing part of his shirt and Charmander got knocked to the ground. Absol circled the boy letting out a deep growl for the others to back off. This was a matter of pride. The creature wasnt gong to go down so easy.

Tyler felt the Pokeball snap on his belt. He paused, hearing a single deep breath behind. "Aww, crud..." Tyler muttered before he felt himself get launched through the air, Phyre next to him. Tyler's shirt was ripped, Phyre seemed hurt. He stood up, staring at the Absol. It was furious, growling and circling Tyler. "This... this isn't good." He nervously looked at Phyre, who was wrapped around one of his legs. He turned back to Absol, following it as it circled. "Nice kitty?" He stepped back a little, hoping the Absol wouldn't turn on the others. He'd made it angry so it should hopefully focus on him. He thought to his training. "Alice, Davis, you think I can take this thing on man-to-Pokemon? Just, you know, show it I'm not weak? Phyre seems...well, terrified!"

Alice couldn't believe it when Tyler's Pokeball burst open again. She had thought the Absol was captured for sure. The creature seemed mad and she and Aster only just managed to dodge out of the way when it started attacking. Unfortunately, Tyler wasn't so lucky. Alice had no way of reaching him though, the Absol was going completely ballistic.

It seemed this Pokemon was much craftier than the ones they had encountered so far, but she had no doubt that Tyler and Phyre could handle it. She looked down at Aster, who nodded back. He would protect her if the Absol's attacks misfired. In the meantime, they moved a safe distance away.

Tyler seemed to be trying to reason with it.

"Alice, Davis, you think I can take this thing on man-to-Pokemon? Just, you know, show it I'm not weak? Phyre seems...well, terrified!" he called over to them.

"You're really going to fight it yourself?!" Alice called out. The scythe on Absol's head looked dangerously sharp. "You do whatever you think is best! Maybe a show of courage will make it respect you." Alice was glad she wasn't in that situation, though she knew that type of stunt could work with some kinds of Pokemon. They needed to know the trainer was worthy before they would consent to be captured.

"We're here if you need us." Alice knew this was Tyler's battle, but she was still ready to back him up if he asked for it.

"You're really going to fight it yourself?!" Alice called out. "You do whatever you think is best! Maybe a show of courage will make it respect you." Tyler could see Alice was glad she wasn't in that situation. If he was honest, he didn't really want a furious Absol attacking him either. He paused, noticing the creature's circling hadn't really slowed. "We're here if you need us." Alice called over. Tyler nodded, thankful but not wanting to look away from the Absol. It circled again, growling deeply.

"Phyre, can you get in a Fire Spin towards it? I have an idea." Phyre nodded. Tyler stepped back, causing Absol to move closer. "Okay, now!" Phyre climbed off of Tyler's leg, shooting another Fire Spin at the Absol.

Absol stomped its feet kicking up dirt. It swung its head back and forth. It looked at Tyler taking a couple of shallows breaths. The chramander had done some damage. However it would not be able to take on Absol again.

"Solllll" It growled. It circled around a couple more times before moving in swiftly towards Tyler.

Brettles watched as Meg and Rose each captured a Rattata.

He was amazed by the synchronisation between Rose and her Chingling. He knew a lot about steel types, but he had never seen a bond like this.

"Good catch both of you. Hey, now we all have a Charmander and a Rattata. Rose, your Chingling seems very close to you, you should visit the Canalave steel gym sometime. They specialise in Steel types, and I reckon they would love to see your bond, its really amazing."

"So we are taking south east section huh..looks like we gotta backtrack a bit but it should be okay." Meg said
"So Rocky, the man that drove you here..is he like a body guard?" She wondered out loud.

"Oh Giles, well technically he is just my driver. My parents like to know that I am safe, and they don't really trust public transport, so when I told them that I was coming to Kanto, they asked Giles to come with me. He has a lot of Military history, and can hold his own in a fight, but mostly he just drives me where I need to go."

"He should be waiting for me in Viridian, I asked him to take care of my Aron, 'Rusty'. I have to admit that ever since Max said there was an Aron out here, I suspect that she may have escpaed from Giles and come looking for me."

He smiled and then stopped talking as he felt a vibration through the ground.

"What is that rumbling sound?" he asked before it became apparent. They had found the herd of Tauros, and the Tauros were stampeding.

"Try not to attract their attention." he said. "Stand very still and maybe they won't see us."

A gust of wind swept through and lifted Rocky's bright red tie and waved it in the wind. The Tauros turned their attention to the bright red flapping cloth and charged.

"Uh-oh" was all he said as he ran towards a nearby tree, hoping to get into it's branches before he was run down by the Tauros.
