Once Speedy was healed, Rocky couldn't wait to introduce his three strong team to each other. He called out Speedy right at the counter.

"Speedy, you have met Fury. This Aron is named Rusty. We are all going to work together to be a strong fighting force OK!"

Speedy looked at Fury a little warily, still remembering getting knocked out by the Charmander's headbutt. The the little rattata saw Rusty and gave a "Rata, Rat" cheer and leaped onto the Aron's back.



Rusty didn't expect that and tried to run away, but Speedy held onto her head and rode the Aron round and round the Pokemon center. Rocky laughed at the show thinking it was hilarious, not noticing the glares he was getting form the Pokemon center staff and other visitors.

Eventually one of the staff tapped him on the shoulder. "Sir, we try to maintain a more sedate atmosphere in the healing center. perhaps you would be more happy outside." the man said in a stern voice. That was the second time today that someone had spoken to him in that tone of voice. back home none of the servants would speak like that, and Rocky didn't appreciate it. Still, manners maketh the man. as his father always said, so he politely left the Pokemon center.

Max had given them an hour explore before meeting up again, so it was time to explore, and Rocky knew exactly where he wanted to go.

"Hey, who wants to go explore the abandoned gym?" he asked the other trainers with a grin. "I bet there's all kinds of cool stuff left inside."

With Speedy riding on Rusty's back, and Fury on his shoulder, Rocky made his way back to the abandoned gym.

"Boarded up doors, mean that this place is abandoned, so technically, it is not breaking and entering!" he justified himself out loud.

He reached for the boards and started to pull them off. This was going to be fun.

Alice looked up and saw a small Pidgey circling overhead. It seemed to be a tame Pokemon, but she couldn't recognise who it belonged to. She followed the Pidgey's flight with her eyes, until it disappeared back into a Pokeball held by Brandon, who had just climbed over the wall.

She could hear some kind of scuffle taking place from where Max and the mysterious trainer were. "Maaagmarrr!" a Pokemon voice called out. It sounded strong. Alice crept silently back over to where Brandon was. She nodded at him in hello and then looked down. A strong-looking Magmar stood before Max and his Mudkip. Were they really going to fight? Brandon sent out his own Mudkip as if he was preparing to join the battle.

Alice felt unsure. Aster would have no chance against such a large Fire-type and she had never battled with Domino, who was now cleaning her paws while perched on Alice's shoulder. Besides, her Pokemon were inexperienced and young. The Magmar looked well trained. The spiky-haired boy must be some kind of professional trainer. Alice hoped Max knew what he was doing. She would probably try and help him with Domino if it came down to it, but she had a feeling Max's pride wouldn't like that very much. For now, she hid as best as she could and waited.

Max decided on secretive training on Route 22, or at least apparently. Markus saw him leave in the general direction, west of Viridian. West of Viridian was a special place to all Kantonesian Trainers, of course, as that was where the League was.

Route 22 itself was the way to the league, of course. There was only one way through league-Victory Road, which in and of itself was only accessible via Route 23, and that was only accessible via route 22. Right before Victory Road were the Kanto-Johto border crossroads, serving as a neutral ground between Kanto and Johto as well as the gateway to Mount Silver on the Johto side (which was really dangerous). Most importantly, beyond the dangers of Victory Road, the Pokemon League laid in wait.

Yeah, something was up. Probably some weird champion thing. Champions were kind of weird in general, as if they were hiding something.

Even if something wasn't up, Markus would have gone there anyways, in a simple and basic attempt to grab Pokemon that he didn't own before and make up for his inability to do so on Route 1. Unaware of Alice's intent, or that Max and Blue would be fighting, he basically bee-lined to the route, after getting his Pokemon healed.

((Yes I admit I made a mistake on that much.))

The prideful dragon he caught, that was Typhoon. Dragons were usually related to natural disasters, Typhoons were natural disasters. It worked in his head, at least.

In any case, he ventured straight into the grass, ignoring the brick road for now. He wouldn't be seeing Max's and Blue's fight, or even know it happened unless a Pokemon was suddenly sent into his face, which in and of itself was unlikely. He was a great distance away. Couldn't even see it, or Alice herself for that matter.

He wanted a flying type, he had heard too much about transport with Pokemon and he did not want to be left behind on the ground. He wasn't a fast runner in any stretch of the imagination.

Rocky slowly pulled the boards off making sure no one was around. The seem to come off easily as if someone had been moving in and out of the gym freely. As he moved the boards and slide in the opening he found a gym that was the opposite of abandoned. Even though it was pitch black in the there the light that was coming through revealed an a well maintained state of the art gym.

Neighter Rocky no his pokemon noticed the shadow figures in all black move back into the shadows. He did however hear a slight whipser from the shadows.

Meanwhile

Max looked down at Chunk.
"Bud, Im not sure you should take this thing on. Blue here has had it with him for a long time." Max said

Max wasnt the type to back down but he also wasnt gonig to be put his partner in danger.
" You shouldnt have brought Misty up. Now call Magmar back before you force us both to do something neither of us really wants." Max said trying to appeal to Blues better sense.

"That's right Ruby...turn around before I put that Mudkip out of commission like that Noctowl you trained back in Johto..Seriously can that thing fly right yet." Blue said

Max turned around and noticed some movement further up. He had heard the movement before but now it go louder. They were being watched. Max knew that this battle had to happen now. He knew that he would have to take the loss. It was not because he couldnt back down from a fight, or he had fallen for Blues taunts. The others were watching him and each needed to know that they were all on an even playing ground at this level, he also hoped they understood that loosing and how you handle it is just as important as how you handle winning..

Max paused taking a breath.
"Chunk lets do this."

The battle didnt last long. Mudkip tried its best but the trained Magmar was just to powerful. After the battle Max walked over to Mudkip who though he lost was still trying to stand up and battle.
"Thats enough Chunk." Max said.

"Prove your point.." Max said picking the injured pokemon.

Blue ran his hands through his hair..
"Not yet.."

Alice and Brandon were grabbed out the bushes by two muscular trainers.

Bret "Twerps came to watch the Hoenn chump lose."


The pulled the two out shoving them forward. Max looked at Alice and Brandon.
"Guys..I wanted time to handle this myself." Max said sighing.

Blue laughed
"So whats up with these two losers?" He asked looking at the trainers

Alice watched as Magmar took down the Mudkip with ease. She knew there was no point heading over there. Domino wouldn't have a chance. Just as she was about to sneak back off into the bushes, she felt a hand clamp down on her shoulder. She yelped in surprise when a muscular boy began pushing her down the path towards Max and his opponent. Domino bit the guy's finger, not liking how her trainer was being handled. Normally Alice would be mortified, but this time she refused to apologise for the rat's behaviour.

"Guys..I wanted time to handle this myself." Max said sighing, when he saw them.

"Sorry Max," Alice said, looking at the ground. "I really didn't intend to follow you. I was just looking for wild Pokemon. As far as I know, this route is open to everyone," she said sternly, frowning at the boy who had pulled her out of the bushes. Domino mimicked her expression, clicking her sharp teeth at the muscular boy. "I don't want to interfere, I'm just looking for a Nidoran..." Alice sighed. With all the commotion, she would be surprised if any wild Pokemon were about.

She ignored the taunts of the spiky-haired boy. She couldn't stand rude people. They triggered a sort of fire in her. If she had stronger Pokemon she would have liked to have shown this boy a thing or two. As it was, she pretended he didn't exist.

((Just wanted to say that Rose will get more confident and actually start trusting other people in the group and doing more than quietly following along over time))

Rose followed along quietly. She was very excited about everything that had happened. She had not only received her first Pokemon, but battled some Pokemon and made her first capture. The day wasn't even over yet. She followed the rest of the group to the Pokemon center, trying to stay near Meg. Rocky didn't seem bad, but she still didn't quite feel comfortable with him. Max seemed nice. He had been leading for a while, and had saved her from the Tauros. But Meg was the only one in the group Rose really knew she could strongly trust, and aside from what people had said introducing themselves, Rose really knew nothing about anyone else. Still though, no one else knew anything about her either. Maybe she just wasn't giving everyone enough of a chance. Giving them a chance though would require interaction with them, and she was too nervous to take the first step towards saying anything to them.

Rose gave Nurse Joy her Pokeballs. A short time later her Pokemon came back healed. She let her Rattata out of it's Pokeball. She wanted to make a top percentage joke, but decided to avoid breaking the fourth wall. Oops. Too late.

The Rattata seemed startled. It darted it's head around rapidly, as if trying to figure out where it was. "Hmm... I guess you'll need a name too." Rose said. The normal type looked up at her questioningly. "I guess I'll have to think about it. For now I'm going to put you back in your Pokeball." She said. She proceeded to do just that. "Come on Amirah." She said to her partner, turning to walk towards the entrance to the Pokemon center. The psychic type followed behind, letting out a ringing noise. The group seemed to be splitting up. Rose tried to stay close to the people she knew best.

Meg waited outside the pokemon center with Kaze. As Rose finally came out. She called her over.
"Hey Rose, you wanna take a walk and explore this place with me?" She smiled.
"We have an hour to kill."

Brandon was getting very angry now... "Losers! You call me a loser? I am not the one who ambushed a newbie... that is some wimpy stuff... either battle me stright up or release me this instant!"

Before anyone had the chance to do anything though Brandon's Mudkip (who had been sitting quietly not far away but was forgotten) rushed at one of the boys holding Brandon and attacked him biting and nawing at his hands and ears... in the surprise Brandon punched the other kid in the face and quickly grabbed Skippers but pokeball and pressed the button... Skipper came out. Brandon tried to grab Pidgy's ball too but then the other boy had recovered tackled Brandon. Skipper realizing Brandon was under attack growled and swung his tail at the boy. Mudkip was still tussling with the other one.... but was starting to get weaker.

The inside of the gym was amazing. Why did the outside look so run-down when the inside was so state of the art?

Rocky heard a whisper of noise from somewhere in the room, and froze for a second. The he laughed aloud to himself. "Just hearing things Rocky."

He went to the gym floor and saw the gym battlefield. This was amazing.

He stood in the challenger's position and called out to the empty room. "I challenge you, Gym leader. I am Rocky, give me your badge now, Mwahaha! Rusty, Fury and Speedy I choose you."

The three Pokemon ran out onto the arena and joined in the fun, play tackling each other, and trying out their attacks in a gym setting. The three Pokemon and their trainer were having so much fun and making so much noise, that Rocky completely forgot that he was probably supposed to be quiet so that no-one caught him trespassing.

Sorry for the rediculously short post, I just really wanted to have Rose say this and it will probably be another 18 hours or so before my next chance to respond so by the time I have enough to respond to it might be too late.
