"Thanks for understanding!" Alice smiled as the ranger escorted them out. "I hope you find your friend."

Once the group was outside and alone, Alice looked around carefully. She was a bit worried that Marius could have returned or sent someone to wait for them. But she couldn't see anything out of the ordinary.

"Well that was a relief, thank god it was only one.... Good job Alice at talking tbe ranger down". Brandon said.

"Thanks, Brandon," Alice smiled. "Yeah we were pretty lucky. I know shelter is tempting but if we aren't near a Center, we should probably camp out from now on."

"Hey, did you all get Meg's message last night?" Alice asked the group. The message seemed less creepy in the daylight, but Alice was still worried. "I think we should try to contact her while we walk. And warn her about Marius too. I know how to send messages, but is there a way to make calls too?"

The 'ranger' escorted them out of the station. Rocky Collected his gear and left with the others ready for a new day where hopefully they would make it to Lavender.

"Hey, did you all get Meg's message last night?" Alice asked the group. "I think we should try to contact her while we walk. And warn her about Marius too. I know how to send messages, but is there a way to make calls too?"

Rocky looked at his Poketech and sure enough the message waiting light was flashing.

He hit the button to show the message and watched the video message From Meg.

When it finished he looked up. "What has she gotten herself into now? What happened at the end? I am not sure about the call function. I'll see what i can find."

With that Rocky started playing with the communication apps on the Poketech, pressing all the buttons to see what they did.

Rose's heart began beating. If the ranger downstairs called the police, they would be in trouble. Alice came to the rescue though, and managed to calm her down. Apparently they were supposed to have called that they were going to stay there, but no one would have noticed the sign on the door after everything that had happened.

It was only a matter of time before they were on the subject of Meghan's call. "I'm worried about her." Rose said concernedly. Meghan was a capable trainer, but who knows what she could have run into? Rose couldn't be very helpful with the poketechs, so she waited while the others messed with theirs.

"Can... Can anyone help me try to set up voice commands on my poketech? At least, if it has any." Rose asked. She didn't want to be an annoyance, but not being able to sense the screen was preventing her from using it, which was starting to become a problem.

Rocky played Meg's message. Alice listened again. The end was really weird.

"What has she gotten herself into now? What happened at the end? I am not sure about the call function. I'll see what i can find." Rocky said.

"Yeah, it's a bit worrying. Hopefully we can get in contact to confirm she's alright. I wish these things came with manuals..." Alice replied.

"Can... Can anyone help me try to set up voice commands on my poketech? At least, if it has any." Rose asked.

"Of course, Rose!" Alice said. "It's probably one of the first things we should have figured out, huh?" Alice looked through the menus on her own Poketech, trying to find something to do with voice activation. On such a sophisticated machine, Alice was sure the option would be available. Almost everything used voice activation and response these days, even those strange doors in Pokemon Centers.

Alice tried a few different things while she walked, but she only managed to increase the volume of her Poketech and change her ringtone. After a while, her Poketech finally let out a beep. "Voice mode activated," it said in a friendly female tone. Alice pressed a button on the side of the Poketech. "Enter voice command," the Poketech voice replied.

"Alright, I think I got it," Alice said. She shut down the voice mode on her own Poketech and reached for Rose's wrist. After a few seconds, Rose's Poketech seemed to be ready for voice commands.

"It looks like it's fully customisable," Alice said interestedly. "You can choose what kind of voice you want it to reply in and what you want to say in order to activate it so it's ready to accept commands. It seems you can activate it using a word or phrase of your choice, or by pressing the top button on the side. You'll have to figure that out yourself, though," Alice laughed. "This is about as far as I can get with this crazy new technology!"

The Poketechs were probably more useful than Alice thought. She hoped Brock's contact in Lavender Town would be able to tell them some other features as well as clear their names.

"I hope we're getting close to Lavender Town," Alice said after a while. "My Pokemon could really use a rest. Marius wiped out most of my team, so if there's any trouble, I'm afraid I won't be much help."

((Hopefully I'm allowed to do this, otherwise ignore this post. I have no idea what functions the Poketechs actually have, but voice mode seemed like a reasonable one. :P))

It was now noon and the team had been walking for a long while. They had not run into many trainers on the long path to Lavender which was lucky but that luck would be running out. Near the entrance to route 12 and the bridge needed to cut right through to Lavander the team noticed trainers gathering. They had a couple of optoins

1) approach the gathering
2) Take a break and then figure out there next move.
3) find away around the trainers without attracting attention.

Its up to you guys :P please dont evenly pick two lol

"Of course, Rose!" Alice said to her request.

"Thank you Alice." Rose responded gratefully. Alice messed with her own poketech as they walked, and once she had figured out how to do it, she took Rose's wrist and activated it on her poketech. "Thank you so much!" she said in a tone that was perhaps a bit too excited. She hoped she wouldn't feel so handicapped anymore now that she could use her voice to send and play back messages. A while passed, and Alice commented that she hoped they could reach Lavender town soon. "Me too." Rose agreed. "My Honedge got knocked out when we..." She paused for a moment, remembering what had happened the day before, and trying to push the possibility that she had made a horrible mistake out of her head. "...When we fought those drowzee."

A while later they noticed a gathering of trainers ahead. "What do you reckon. Who wants to go and test their team?" Rocky asked the group.

"I would, but... we should probably try to keep our teams in the best condition we can. What if we run into trouble on the way? Alice's team is already almost gone, and ours were weakened fighting the drowzee." Rose was okay with doing a battle or two if other members of the group wanted to, but she thought they would be better off trying to go around.

1 am almost 12 hours before...

Meghan lay in the cold dirt rubbing her knee. She slowly got back up looking back at the shallow hole she had fallen into. Her arms and knees had tiny cuts and scraps on them.

"Damn.." she sighed as she realized her Poketech was working.

"Hopefully the battery died." She thought.

When she back up her knee was a little swore but she would be fine. Gallow was waiting for her further up the path. The little gligar seemed more interested in the weather beacon they had found. The red light flashing rapidly. This thing was sure to attract attention she thought as she looked around the are. How had this thing ended up here? She paused using her flashlight to get more information. The metal showed signs of what looked like damage to extreme cold. Which seemed about right to Meg who figured these things would be floating in the upper atmosphere. On further inspection she found a worn out logo.

"CYCLONE?" She said curiously

This really didnt mean much to her so she got up to explore the surrounding area. To her luck the beacon had caused a considerable amount of damage on its collision course. Part of the fence had been broken in two. She now had a way into whatever this place was. Gallow took the opportunity to do a fly over of the broken fence and the area right on the other side.

Meghan first reaction wasnt to immediately head right in. She knew that being out here right now was already hard enough to explain let alone crossing over into what was defiantly private property. However she also realized that if there had been censors on this fence they had stopped working a long time ago. She looked at the fence letting out a yawn.

"This can wait until tomorrow." She said finally backing off.

Gligar glided back over to her shoulder.
"Gli?"

Meghan looked at him.
"We dont know whats out there....we can get some rest and come up with a plan tomorrow morning." she said making her way back to her camp. After setting up the sleeping bag Meghan laid down and closed her eyes.

3:30 am

"Get up!" a man voice said.

Meghan opened her eyes to light in her eyes. Three men stood over her with weapons.

"Get her up!" the leader said as the other two pulled her to her feet.

Meghan quickly realizing what was going on put up her hands.
"..I surrender!" She said angerly trying to get the men to back off.

The men were dressed in all black with only the one piercing white R symbol on their chest. She wasnt given time to do much. The leader walked right behind her shoving. The others collected her stuff.

"I cant say I like the ever so "gentle" push I am getting from these guys as I am being led to go knows where. I have finally woken up completely and if not for my curiosity I would probable keel over and die from the all the fear that is clogging my heart. I am in real trouble and Im facing what could be the end of me and Im alone in the dark on some creepy abandoned factory grounds.

I suppose this is the point in the story where Rokcy would step in and try to break the tension by making an off center joke. "Featured today on the top things you should totally avoid on your own. Number covering yourself margikarp oil and swimming near sharpedo and number two foolishly following a mass mudrer who may be in league with a crime syndicate that runs the country." I miss the team." Meg said to herself being pushed across a waste land. In the distance she could now see the dim lights of massive factory.

"How has no one seen this before? Seriously, how does something like this go unchecked. Oh wait its like 4 something in the morning and with the gate running around the property I have to guess that no trespassing or maybe even warning signs that read "Toxic" have caused any local police curiosity. I doubt even the local critters want to come anywhere near this less then safe looking building." She said under her breath.

"What did you say." One of the grunts said shoving her forward.

" There has been a misunderstanding mr." Meghan said in a scared tone.
"I am just a bird trainer who stupidly got curious. I dont care whatever you guys are doing at this creepy factory." She continued.

As they got closer to the doors. Megs instincts kicked and as she tried to get clear she was knocked out.

6 something am or so I think.

Meghan began to stir quickly finding out that she was on the floor of a mostly dark room. The only source of light coming from a crack under the door. she made her way around the room finding that there was no way out. As the fear started to kick in she got down the floor to see what if anything she could see outside of this room. The light coming in was very dim.

"Someone let me out of here!" She called out not starting to panic. She got up and started banging on the door. There was no response which caused her to bang even harder on the door.

She then turned to see if her bag was somewhere in here but sadly it was gone. Just the broken Poketech. She used the light to try and open it up. When she didnt have any luck with that she began to scream out again until finally she saw a pair of feet moving past.

"Where are my pokemon at!!! Let me out of here." She continued to bang on the door until she wore herself out. Eventually she was to tired and soar to hit the door anymore. She leaned against the wall her hands were now covered in cuts and swollen. She slide down he wall onto her butt. She couldnt let this break her. She had been in this room for a couple of hours and she was going to get out. She just couldnt do it like this. Finally the day light broke and started to fill the building with light. The light made its way into this room through the cracks in the wall.

11 am

When she finally heard the faint sound of talking she laid down and put her ear to the crack.

"Executive Ariana is coming here..I just got the call." One of the grunts said

"Great just great she is going to want to know if we hacked it. She wants that info from it." The other sighed.

"what do we tell her about the girl ?" The second one said

" I dont know...but having a new test subject should at least get her to calm down when she realizes someone found this place."

"we should prep the equipment then.."

The two walked away leaving Meg all alone.

"Great job Meg." she said to herself.

" Be the brave one and do this on your own. Your impressive two or three pokemon battles really gave you an edge of over logic." she continued

Meghan waited a little longer and decided it was time she figured out how to get out of here. She pulled the bobby pin out of her hair and carefully took off her arm bandage and shoes laces. She first tried to pick the lock but that didnt work. She then tried to use some of the blocks of cement on the floor to break the hinges and that also didnt work.
"Dont even think about starting a fire." She said herself wondering if a fire could be started and if it would work. She sat back down and kicked the wall. For some reason this caused small pebbles to fall from the ceiling. She looked and noticed ceiling covered in pipes had taken serious water damage. A small smile came over her face as she thought maybe she could bring the ceiling down. She looked up trying to estimate how high the wall was.

3PM

Finally with some time she had found a way to use the gaps broken in the wall to climb up. These gaps provided just enough space for her to get close enough to use the makeshift rope made from her wrist bandages to swing on two on of close pipes. Using her shoe laces tied to the end of her rope it gave her something to grab onto once the rope was over. With the rope now secure she would be able to try and use her weight to hopefully bring down part of the wall. It did not work out the first couple of times. For each time she fell down or slipped she got back and dusted herself off heading right back up. When she finally was able to connect the pipes let out a loud ringing noise that echoed through the walls. Chunks of the ceiling came falling down but it wasnt enough. A few more attempts and finally she got what she thought wanted. On her last attempt the pike broke tearing up the ceiling as it snapped off its hinge. Meghan dropped back 8 feet and nearly moved out the way of getting hit with the pipe. However she was not so lucky as the ceiling gave. She quickly covered her head as it came down all around her.

Meghans arm pushed up through the rubble. She coughed as she finally broke free. As she climbed out now more soar that shed been in awhile she heard footsteps. She carefully picked up a chunk of wood and charged painfully at the door. As it came open she swung hard and fast knocking the first grunt to the ground. She slipped on the ground and hit the other one in the gut as he started to grab her. She didnt know where she was but she had to get out. She pushed back to her feet as the two grunts lay on the ground in pain.

She ran as fast as she could her legs and arms burned from the cuts and bruises of being buried under rubble. She called out for Gligar

"GALLOW!" she yelled hoping the pokemon would hear her and respond. She paused to see where they were and the second was getting back up and making his over over to her. When the faint sound of what she thought was Gligar came from the floor above she took the stair case. She moved up it as fast as she could and to her relief it was her pokemon further up the path in a steel cage. Her legs really started to hurt as she got closer.

"Gligar!" the small scared pokemon called out seeing his trainer.

Meghan reached the steel cage built into the wall and started to pull on the bars but had not luck. She searched desperately for the key but couldn't find it. Finally the grunts caught up her. One smiled and held the key out. Meghan growled

"You made a real mistake messing with me and my pokemon." She hissed

Clinching her fist she was determined to go out fighting. She quickly pulled back as one of them smoke up.
" Do anything stupid and were going to use your pokemon in our next experiments..believe me we dont have a high success rate. " He said annoyed carefully putting his hand on his head to feel for the mark she left.

Meghan sighed dropped the weapon and putting her hands back up.

Ive written this three times now and its not saved so its going to be rushed

Meanwhile.

Mills listened to the stories happy to have a break from having to hunt down criminals. When Rocky mentioned the missing pokemon he spoke up.
" The missing pokemon is something we have a lot of guys working on. Though Im not sure I trust everyone in Vermilion. Surge was doing this for awhile and it only became public recently. Why?" He asked looking at the group.

"I can tell you that if they dont find Surge I will. We have good people working on this to make sure any stolen pokemon are returned. I wont stop until the last pokemon is returned." Mills seemed annoyed

"But this cant only be on Surge...I fear that something much bigger is going on in Vermilion City." He paused.

"You guys should get some rest. You have a long day ahead of you tomorrow."

As he turned around to walk back to his spot he remarked.

"Dont think I have to tell you not to run..."

Mills woke up early and got the group up.
