Mills let out a half smile laugh listening to Rocky.
"Mr. Smithwick we really dont need to play this game. Here lets start over."


Before could finish his thought. The trainer he knew as Brandon stepped forward. The files he was handed had limited information of personalities. He had assumed based on the footage that Rocky, Rose and Alice with proper respect would not put up a fight. He didnt think that way about Brandon or the trainer Meghan who as not around but this again was based on a file that was not complete. What he knew was basic information from following them to this point. He also knew what there basic pokemon should. Brandons the most obvious as he had been using the same pokemon freely without taking into account which people watching him.

"Brandon you were the gambit I was expecting. Without being to cautious I could have found the group with just your description. I of course admire your act first battling style but your friends are right. This is a mistake. I was something of a battler years ago. Nothing like any of the modern champions but I was decent." he smiled.

Mills turned around his badge to show that his badge was a keystone and the back held the second half of a mega stone.

Mills takes ten steps back. He then takes a moment to compose himself fixing up his hair. He then turns towards the group.

"Excuse me, excuse me!" he said jogging over to the group.

"Im sorry to interrupt your stroll on such a beautiful day! My name is Detective Mills located out Saffron City. I was sent to check out the area as five possible wanted suspects were spotted in the area. Upon reaching you I can tell that there was some kind of misunderstanding. I was looking for five trainers. Clearly there are less which would be enough for me to back up...but. He smiled

"This is the kicker." he said carefully reaching into jacket pulling out envelope.

" I was going to walk away but then I remembered I had these pictures of each of the members of Max's Team. Pictures from the day of and pictures from outside the pokemon center in Vermilion City. I had no idea who you kids were until I got taken off my current assignment on the outer islands.You must have some powerful or rich enemies to pull strings in Vermillion City. The kid who pulled the strings talked like you do Roxington." He said tossing some more M&Ms in his mouth.

"So we really dont need to do this. Based on the file I have here you kids are wanted in connection with the Mt Moon attack, the gang fight outside Cerulean and of course your part in Cerulean City. So lets cut out the deer in the head light act. We have a long ways to go to get back."

Alice groaned as the detective sent out a Slowbro as powerful as his Arcanine. He pulled out a keystone. Alice didn't know much about mega evolution, but being from Kalos, she recognised the procedure. Brandon was in huge trouble. She sighed.

While the detective and Brandon were busy, Alice took a couple of tentative steps toward the Arcanine and gently held out a hand, bowing her head slightly in a gesture of respect, and waited to see if the Arcanine would allow her to approach. She loved dog Pokemon and hadn't had a chance to catch one yet.

Detective mills accepted Brandon's challenge and sent out a Slowbro.

Rocky had heard of Slowbros before but had never seen one. This one seemed very powerful. Then the detective did something with his badge and the Slowbro transformed into something even bigger. Rocky wasn't sure how but somehow it had crawled inside it's shell and grown much larger. It was also using some strange power to float in the air.

"And that's why I suggested going along without a fuss!" Rocky said.

He sat down on the side of the path to watch. Opening his backpack he pulled out some snacks and a drink. "This should be a fun show!" he said to Alice and Rose as he got comfortable.

Rose was startled when she heard the detective say her name. For a while now, she had realized she couldn't back out anymore. Now that she knew they knew who she was though, there really was no turning back until they had cleared their names. Suddenly, Brandon challenged the officer. Rose couldn't believe what she was hearing. She had half expected something like this, but even so, it was unbelievable. "Brandon you were the gambit I was expecting. As the detective sent out the slowbro, Rose could immediately sense its strength. A wave of psychic energy hit her, giving her a headache as it hit. She moved her hand to her head, wincing from the sudden sharp pain. After a few seconds the pain had faded, but she could still sense the Pokemon's power. Rocky commented about how fun of a show this was going to be, and Rose couldn't believe him. "Brandon, do-don't do this!" Rose called out to him. "This is insane! Even if we all helped you, we wouldn't be able to beat even one of his Pokemon!"

The detective launched a short speech about he knew that Brandon would be one to not go quietly, he was darn right alright. Then the detective sent out his pokemon, the first one being an unbelievably strong Slowbro, it was stronger then any pokemon Brandon or his faced and to make matters worse, the detective pulled out a stone and the pokemon got even stronger. Brandon knew instantly he would be lossing this pokemon, the 2nd pokemon he sent out was just as strong. It was seemly hopeless to battle him, but it was still beside the point, the point is, if you want to arrest him, your going to havd to come through his pokemon first. Brandon looked around at his pokemon, he could tell even Skipper was a little nervous seeing the opponents, but he was doing an unbelievably good job at hiding it. He asked his pokemon quietly "You guys don't have to do this if you don't want to do this if you don't want to, we are up against a very powerful enemy, so I am leaving it up to you guys, if you want to battle, we will battle, if you don't then we won't. It is entirely up to you guys, I won't hold anything against you, I totally understand if you decide you don't, these are stronger opponents then we have ever faced before.". Skipper then went around in the team and asked if they wanted to do this, they all seem to say they did. After all the pokemon replied, Skipper looked up to Brandon and nodded, indicating they wanted to battle. With that, the battle began. Skipper elected for Beedrill to begin the assault, since he would have a type advantage against the part psychic pokemon.

Now Skipper was the only one left standing, he gave Brandon a look that said he was proud to serve him and that said to be careful and be safe until he and the rest of the team were healed, whenever that would be. Then with that, he turned back to the opposing Slowbro, made the flame on his tail leap a couple feet higher, then he built some flames up on his claws, then he charged full speed towards the slowbro, right as he reached him, he lowered his head slightly so that the slowbro would also get hit with his horn and as he reached him, he scratched at the slowbro with his flaming hot claws and gave the slowbro a poke with his horn.

Skipper fainted as soon as his horn made contact with the massive slowbro. His and the rest of Brandon's pokemons' efforts were respectable considering the extreme dis advantage they had been up against. Brandon was proud of his pokemon and honored to have such loyal and brave pokemon at his side.

Brandon had been defeated, which he saw coming, he said put his hands up and said to the detective "A deal is deal, I a man of my word, I shall come along without further resistance. I do still insist on my innocence though".

After Brandon's lost battle with the detective, even though Brandon had his hands up in surrender already, the detective, who identified himself as detective Mills, said that he told him not to do that, then he pulled out a pair of handcuffs and reached up for one of Brandon's raised arm, he slipped thencuff on the one arm and pulled it behind his back, then reached for Brandon's other arm and pulled that one back and cuffed that one too. Brandon was handcuffed with his hands behind his back, now the detective brought him to the rear of the group and had him stand next to his Arcanine and topd him not to make any sudden movements. Brandon rolled his eyes and thought handcuffing him was un nessecary, all his pokemon were currently out of commision, there was no way he couldn't resist further even if he wanted to. The only he could really do was run, but he is not stupid, there was no way that would happen, the detective's Arcanine would catch him before he got a foot away. Brandon just stood silently as the detective told the team what they were going to do, then the team was made to walk for awhile. After what felt like hours of walking, the detective had them stop, he un handcuffed Brandon, which was a relief, he rubbed his wrists to get the circulation in them moving again. As he did so the detective said they would set up camp and that his Arcanine would make some soup for them all. Soon a camp was made and the group began to try and relax in the makeshift camp, supervised by the detective and his powerful pokemon. He handed out soup to the group and tried to make small chat, as Brandon ate his soup, the detective tried make small talk with him and said he understands fighting for what you believe in but that sometimes you need to take in the beginner picture. Brandon knew and understood this, one should always take in the bigger picture when possible, but if one is cornered and doesn't have the time to just take in the bigger picture, then one just needs tp think fast, think on their feet and act.

The detective then went on to try and make small talk with the group in general and try to their mind off everything. Brandon just listened to it all and remained silent the whole time, he was not going to risk giving any form of law of enforcement any kind of information that they could re word and use in a cade against them. While the detective seemed like a nice guy and was treating them well, Brandon knew that was just what police and detectives were trained to do, to be friend suspects in order to gain their trust and get information to try them with. Brandon knew this because his Mom was good friends with a retired Sinnoh Police Sergeant, who always told her stories (some that sounded like they should secret) from when we was a cop, when Brandon was with her, he listened to his stories and absored every word of it. A couple of these stories flashed into his mind, the stories were a remidner as to how you could never trust a cop when you were detained, especially when they were being friendly. The best course of action, was to say nothing at all.

Brandon woke up as he sensed Mills walking around, he rolled over to see what Mills was doing, he was waking up the rest of the group, but he hadn't gotten a chance to wake Brandon up yet, but Brandon's senses woke him up when they senses the movement anyway. Brandon sat up and stretched. Soon the group began moving again, until they heard someone shout help. Mills had them stop and ran over to help. A little girl explained about how a man with Drowzee had stolen all their pokemon and money. Brandon was getting angry inside again, that stupid lying, no good trickster of a man was at it again! Before he think much further about it, Rocky spoke up about it being the Drowzees and that Brandon was mind controlled and yatata. This was the last straw, Brandon was now truly angry and he yelled at Rocky "I WAS NOT MIND CONTROLLED ROCKY! WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS ALREADY! THAT MAN IS A STUPID, LYING, TRICKSTER AND A THIEF! YOU WERE WRONG, THE MAN IS BAD AND I WAS NOT MIND CONTROLLED, SO STOP TALKING THIS STUPID NONSENSE ABOUT ME BEING MIND CONRTOLLED!" Brandon stopped yelling after the last word and began to take deep breaths to calm down, once calm he went back to maintaining his full silence.

After he finished yelling, the detective silenced him. Then sent out a ghost type pokemon to find the guru. Not long afterward, the group began to move, following the ghost type, then they found the guru and detective Mills moved in swiftly and arrested him. As the guru was arrested, Brandon couldn't help but laugh, he said to the man aloud "See what you get for being a lying, slick, trickster? You get to go to jail! Your getting what you deserve you old piece of dirt! Now, are you gonna give us our money back? Or did ya spend it already like the trash you are you?" Brandon didn't expect an answer and wasn't given one either. Soon the group was moving again, a couple hours later they were nearing the police station and Brandon took a deep breath and looked around, breathing in the natural air, watching the birds fly, watching the wind blow through the trees, watching the clouds move through the sky and he finally he took one last look at the sun that was beaming overhead, he wanted to have one last look before he went to prison, for god knew how long. He knew he would get out and see the free world again, but it probably wouldn't be for awhile. As Brandon turned away from the sun, he said a small silent prayer, that they be able to find some out of this situation and be able to the mini sentence possible. Moments later, as if god had heard him and decided to grant his wish, an explosion rang out, followed by another. Detective Mills handcuffed the guru to a tree and then ran off to investigate what was going on, he said he wouldn't hold it against them if they ran. Once the detective was out of sight, Brandon immediately sprang into action, he picked up some dirt from a nearby grass strip, he rubbed it on his clothes, shoes and face. He ran his hand through his hair to mess it all up, then he pulled up the hood of his sweater and pulled the strings tight. Then he wrinkled his jeans, once this was done, he said aloud to the others "Come on guys, we got to move! This is our one chance to remain free and escape. If we move now, we could blend into the panicking crowd and escape that way".

Brandon was now getting frustated, Rocky tried to foolishly convince them to jump in and save everyone to 'clear their names'. Brandon let out a sad sigh and shook his head "Don't you guys get it? Whoever wants this manhunt for us is very powerful, if they want us to be guilty and lock us up, then their gonna do it regardless of we what do to prove our innonence. We have been playing hero all this time and where has it gotten us? It has gotten us to be Kanto's most wanted! I am sorry, but I am sick of playing hero only to be made to look more like a criminal each time. The only thing we can do is run, we can't beat this justice system, its rigged and too powerful.... Alice I know he has our scent, but I know how to handle that issue... You see, if you go through water, like a lake, stream or else a big puddle, it will wash away our scent, problem solved. I think we can hide somewhere deep in vermillion, maybe we can find Brock's number and call him, we could ask him to ask his contact if he could meet us at our hiding spot, where he could work his magic. In order to have ANY chance to do this, or to be free, we have to move NOW!"


Brandon hoped he could convince the others to flee, he knew they would stand no chance against the criminal justice system, if they stayed it would certainly mean jail time. Brandon was not going to ruin his and everyone else's chance, very well their LAST chance, of escape, just to try and be a hero again, only to be more criminalized AGAIN.

As Brandon finished speaking, the group began following Mills anyway. Brandon sighed, he stood still for a second, wondering whether to escape, or go with the group, after a minute of hesistation, he followed the group.

Mills didnt waste much to defeat Brandon. His Mega Slowbro did it with ease. The pokemon moved in quickly and picked apart his battling strategy. The Mega Psychic had predicted all of his moves. This was nowhere near a close battle. After the battle all of Brandons team was defeated and the Mega Slowbro with back with trainer.


"Sloww!" It smiled confidently transforming back into slowbro.

Mills then handcuffed Brandon.
"Warned you to take the easy path."

"Arcanine is going to escort you back from this point. I wouldnt make any quick movements either." Mill said petting the big fire type. Who let out a low growl at Brandon. From this point the fire type would be walking next to Brandon to watch him.


"Not how I wanted. Your friend is safe and because I can risk him trying anything foolish this has to be the way it is. I have an idea lets start over." He smiled looked at the trainers he had hoped he didnt need to take by force.

"So this is how this going to work. You are all going to walk in front of me. Brandon is going to be at the back of the line with me and Arcanine. If anyone tries anything funny you are going to end up with Brandon here. Is that understood?" Mills said being blunt with them.


With that the team was now being ushered back to Vermilion with there new escort.
