Alice followed the group down some dark corridors and into a room with a number of chairs. The man who led them in told them to wait.

"Any one else getting the we are going to become wax statues here, vibe? " Meg smiled cautiously.

Alice smiled back nervously. She wondered if she should tell the others about what she and Max had seen earlier. She didn't want to worry anyone. What if this whole thing had nothing to do with Team Rocket? Would Max be mad at her for mentioning their mission? After a few moments, she decided she could probably trust Meg with this information. She seemed very capable and wouldn't freak out. Meg had strong Pokemon. If something happened, it would be good for her to be prepared.

Alice leaned close to Meg. "I didn't want to worry the others, but there have been sightings of Team Rocket in the city today." Alice said quietly, so only Meg could hear. "We should be careful."

Meg froze when she heard the words Team Rocket. Why would they be here and with all the gym leaders in the city. This building being so dark almost made sense. Meg had thought the building closed..but if there was a plan why let these guys in? She paused before finally responding.

The low lighting of the building gave it a nice intimate feeling. It was like walking through the entrance to the ballroom back home. The artwork along the sides of the rom signified that this was a place of opulence.

"Any one else getting the we are going to become wax statues here, vibe?" Meg smiled cautiously.

Rocky chuckled at the comment. Despite her confidence in Pokemon training, Meg was obviously out of her element in this upper class building. Alice whispered something to Meg as they sat and waited for their host to return. Meg whispered back, both of them looked uneasy.

"Don't worry everybody. I have a real good feeling about this place!" he said.

Rocky was too excited to sit, he was finally back in a place suited to him. He walked around the room checking out the artwork.

As the group sat around nervously other than Rockey who seemed to think he was being granted a gift. A man walked in with a koffing flowing behind him.


The doors swung open two men and blacked stood quite as the flamboyant man in upper class clothes stepped in.
"Welcome children to Pokétech." He said walking over. One of the grunts walked over pulling out the chair.

He picked up his coat and sat down.
" Please join us, good sir." He said looking at Rockey.

A well-dressed man entered and welcomed the trainers. He referred to them all as children, which was one of Rocky's per peeves. Rocky was on this adventure to prove that he was no longer a child. Still he had been raised to be polite so he took the chair offered to him.

"Thankyou, sir!" Rocky said as he joined the rest of the trainers sitting down and facing the gentleman.

"We were hoping to meet up with the gym leaders. They have chosen some of us to be their official representatives in the current tournament. I, Rocky Smithwick, have been selected as the Canalave city and Sinnoh Region representative." He said, adding the last bit quite proudly.

"I don't know. But something doesn't seem right. If the gym leaders were here, I would expect this place to be busier. And it's so dark..." She stopped talking as the door opened, and sat up straight. A man walked in, followed by a Koffing. The smell in the room became considerably worse. Alice didn't want to seem rude, so she did her best to breathe through her mouth. The man was followed by two others.

"Welcome children to Pokétech." The man said, walking over. He sat down in a chair which was pulled out by one of the other men.

"Thankyou, sir!" Rocky said as he joined the rest of the trainers sitting down and facing the gentleman. He told them about their mission to see the gym leaders.

Alice smiled, trying to seem grateful. "We appreciate the opportunity to visit the building."

Rose followed along with the group. The way that the man at the entrance said that they were expecting them didn't sit well with her. Something didn't seem right. Her suspicion only increased when the doors closed behind them. "Amirah." Rose said quietly to her partner. The Chingling floated closer to her. "Are you noticing anything not right?" She asked quietly. Telipathically the psychic type sent a message simply stating "Negative." All of the messages Amirah sent were simple.

"Pretty creepy place, no?" Meg said looking at Rose.

"Uh. Yeah." Rose said, pausing for a second in between words. Her sensing didn't really give her an impression of the appearance of things, but she agreed anyway. Even without being able to tell by appearance, something didn't feel right. Rose had a good sense of hearing. When Alice began whispering to her, Rose noticed, but there was no way she could have made out what she was saying even if she was trying really hard to hear. She began to stay closer to Meghan though. She was feeling anxious. She didn't vocalize her fears though. She thought she was just being too paranoid. When the man walked out, Rose said nothing.

"It is our pleasure to have you here. Not every group of trainers get the treatment that you all are getting right now. However my boss asked me to be on the look out for the group of Tournament Invitees."

Rocky sat back and smiled contentedly as the man said that he had been instructed by his boss to look out for the trainers. It was nice to be appreciated. This man, or at least his boss, must be fans of the tournament, Rocky reasoned. Then another thought struck him.

"With respect sir, You haven't told us exactly why you have invited us inside. I was expecting Mr Byron and the other gym leaders. If your boss is looking to sponsor someone for the tournament, he had better get in fast. I am unavailable as I have already accepted sponsorship for the tournament, as have several of the others." Rocky indicated the other trainers.

"I have to admit that I am unaware of the manager of the Kanto branch of Poketech. Who exactly is your boss?"

Alice sat back and let Rocky do the talking. He seemed at home in a fancy building like this. While he spoke, she looked around the room for any side doors or vents. The appearance of the Koffing had worried her and the smell was starting to make her feel nauseous.
