After a long day, Rose was getting tired. Still, it was a pleasant night. The temperature was cool, but not too cold for her.

Rose heard the talk of the Onix. She hadn't even known its color was off until Rocky had brought it up. She couldn't sense color. "What..." She began, pausing anxiously. "What color was the Onix?" Rose struggled to even remember what color looked like. She was only four when she lost her sight.

"What color was the Onix?" Rose asked.

"It was a sort of crystal colour. It may have been a clear colour, but in the cave it looked light blue. Very shiny." Alice replied.

"Nini!" Finn ran over to Alice and nuzzled against her leg. She was a little concerned about the poison spikes covering his body, but he was very gentle. The Zubat he had been playing with circled around Alice, emitting high pitched squeals every so often.

"Have you made a new friend?" Alice asked Finn.

"Ni!" he confirmed, grinning up at the Zubat.

"Would you like to come with us, young one?" Alice asked the Zubat. She held out an arm and the Zubat circled some more before landing on it, hanging upside-down from its feet.

Alice laughed. "Well okay then!" She pulled out a Pokeball and touched it to the Pokemon's back. The Zubat disappeared in a flash of red.

Max continued to lead the group through the path following Upgrade's map. He overheard part of the others comments.
"Genetic mutations are a factor in pokemon births just like ours. Or in the case of the crystal Onix. Crystal is pure form of rocks. They come from the same basic minerals..however depending on what factors are put into play during their development you can get normal rocks. However if it is heated slowly and evenly in the depths of the earth when it finally reaches the surface it may be a crystal. Since we live in a world where minerals and life can mix Mineral based pokemon are rare but they do exist...Makes you think about what other mineral based pokemon are out there." He said finally stopping as the group finds a clearing.

Max pulled out a tent setting it up. He used Charmeleon to set up a camp fire than sat down to finally take a break.
"Will camp here. Now take a load off."


Meghan smiled at the grassy location they would be camping in. She pulled out a sleeping bag and rolled it out. She than made her way over to the fire sitting down to relax.
"Anyone got any ghost stories?" She joked.

Rocky sighed in relief as they stopped walking and set up camp. He set up his tent and prepared his bedding and then came out to sit around the fire with the others.

He noticed that Brandon had set up his own campsite with his own fire a little away from the the others.

"Did someone offend Brandon?" he asked.

"Anyone got any ghost stories?" Meg asked.

"Have you heard the one about the 'Smoky Rhydon of Mount Moon'? I heard that it's a true story." The others hadn't heard the story so Rocky told it.

"5 years ago on a warm May night, an arrogant trainer with a powerful Rhydon camped out in a clearing on the outskirts of Mount Moon. A clearing much like this one. This arrogant trainer had made a name for himself by challenging and defeating Charizard trainers. He was well known and very disliked."

"During the night the Arrogant trainer was awakened by 5 trainers, each of whom had a Powerful Charizard. They challenged the arrogant trainer, but once he let out his Rhydon, all of the Charizard attacked at the same time. Despite its Power, the Rhydon could not survive the flames. The trainer tried to forfeit the fight, but the 5 trainers refused to stop."

"In the end all that was left of the Rhydon was a smoldering pile of rubble. The 5 trainers laughed at achieving their revenge. They laughed long and hard, taking their eyes of the smoldering remains of the Rhydon."

"The rising smoke started to take form and soon a large 'Smoky Rhydon' stood over the 5 trainers. It sent out tendrils of solid smoke which choked the life out of the 5 Charizard, and then suffocated the 5 trainers. Alone with his Smoky Rhydon, the arrogant trainer tried to call it back to its ball, but found that he no longer controlled it. The Smoky Rhydon turned on its ex-trainer. They say that his screams were heard all the way back in Pewter city."

"Since that day they say that the 'Smoky Rhydon of Mount Moon' lurks in this area seeking revenge on trainers and any members of the Charizard family, drawing strength from the smoke produced by travelers who light campfires in these mountains."

"They say that if you smell smoke, it's already too late!"

Rocky smiled as he finished his ghost story. "Who else knows one?"

Nathan continued down the road. It was getting dark and late. Nathan and Shich grew tired. Suddenly, Nathan heard a rumbling in the bushes. Out came a small, green, bug Pokemon. Nathan pulled out his Pokedex and scanned the strange creature. "Spinarak, Bug/Poison," read Nathan. "Shich use Ember!" commanded Nathan.

Shich jumped up high and shot and firey cloud of dust. Spinarak didn't have enough time to react and was hit pretty badly. "Spinarak!" cried out the Spinarak, which used Poison Sting on Shich. Spinarak horn with in purple and it jumped out and hit Shich with it. "Shich, use Scratch!" demanded Nathan. Shich scratch the Spinarak and the Spinarak was just too close to dodge. Nathan pulled out a Great Ball from his bag.

Nathan threw the Great Ball and the Spinarak transform into that red beam of light and entered the ball. The ball shook and shook, then it stars flew out. Nathan picked up the Pokeball and placed it on his belt.

After telling the really cool story Meg made her way to the sleeping bag and went to sleep. Max stayed watched for awhile before falling asleep.

In the Morning Meg woke up calling calling out Kaze. "Good morning."

Rose realized when they reached the campsite that she hadn't brought any camping supplies with her. Regardless, she sat down around the fire with the others. She listened to Rocky and Meghan's stories, finding Rocky's particularly creepy. After a little while she found a spot near the fire and laid down. She didn't have anything to sleep on, so she used her backpack as a pillow and removed a light hoodie from the same pack to wrap around her. As Amirah laid down next to her, she could feel her sensing fade. She would lay there for another twenty minutes before falling asleep.

She woke up early the next morning. "Time to get up Amirah." She told the small psychic type. Amirah hovered off the ground and Rose could feel her senses light up again. It seemed almost everyone else was still sleeping. She could sense Meghan was up.

What the slowpoke had told Rose the day before was still bothering her. While she knew the slowpoke was right that no one else could truly understand her sensing, she had begun to think that Max would probably be able to understand a bit, and she didn't feel that he would doubt her story. She walked over to his tent. "Max, are you awake?" She quietly asked in her usual shy tone, not wanting to wake him up if he was sleeping.

Alice slept well despite the others' efforts to freak out the group with ghost stories. When she woke up, she was happy to find that her Pokemon were well rested and recovered from the events of the previous day.

She packed away her things and then sat down on a rock and pulled out her Pokedex. It had become a habit to read the entries of her newest Pokemon, so she would know their attacks when the time came for battle.

After the fire burned low and People had finished telling their Ghost stories, Rocky climbed into his tend and tried out his high tech sleeping bag. It was his first time sleeping in it. It was not quite the feather bed that the adds had promised but he still slept easily, with Rusty curled up inside the bag with him.

As dawn broke Rocky woke. He used the Poketech to check on the status of his Pokemon, and found that just like himself, the a good night's sleep had restored them.

He got up and released his Pokemon and let them stretch and run about as he packed his sleeping bag and tent into his backpack.

The others were relaxing so Rocky decided to use this time to get in a bit of early morning exercise. "OK team lets have a race up to the top of that hill and back. Ready, set, Go!"

The Pokemon raced each other. Speedy was so far out in the lead that he kept running back to the group to see what was keeping the others and then racing back to the front again.

Fury and Kick-Puncher were both competing with each other, neither one willing to let the other beat them. Rocky raced alongside these two Pokemon spurring them on. The three of them were having a three way race.

At the back of the pack Rusty, Behemoth and Professor brought up the tail. Rusty was trying her hardest, but speed was not her strength. Behemoth Ran along in a graceful dancing stride, happy to let the others run ahead. Professor also seemed to be happy with a gentle jog.

At the end of the race, Speedy had predictably won, Fury came second and Rocky third. The group of Pokemon stopped and ate breakfast. They were all a little out of breath, except for Speedy who zoomed around the camp at top speed investigating the clearing and looking for more food.
