The bikers rode away and Meg teased Rocky. "If only were as charming as that red haired guy..you would have have at least gotten to kiss her on the cheek." she said to him.

Rocky rubbed his arm, where 'Sin' had punched him. "A gentleman, doesn't kiss and tell!" he said and walked towards the Pokemon Center.

Once inside the nurse took his Pokemon and he settled in to watch the TV. The news came on showing the Police chasing the bikers and once again holding up team Rocket as the good guys.

"It's like dad always says, control the media, and you can make the public believe whatever you want."

He picked up a brochure for the local gym and read through it.

"Hang on. This says that the Misty has a water gym! Not just water types, but an actual pool of water for the battle arena. That cuts out two thirds of my team. I'd better make some changes." he went to the PC and changed his Pokemon team.

He asked the nurse how his Pokemon were, and she said that they would take some time to recover. He saw that meg and Alice were checking out the Pokemon Day-care center, so he went to see what they were looking at.

Rose's crying had been reduced to a slow trickle of silent tears. She felt even worse seeing how big a crybaby she was. She got on the bike without saying a word, and remained silent for a long time. Amirah made some attempts at cheering her up, but with no success. She couldn't believe they had come so close to saving Max only to fail. It just wasn't fair. JPO and the sons of arcanine dropped them off, and by this time Rose had stopped crying completely, but she still refused to say a word. A while later they reached Cerulean city, and they headed for the Pokemon Center. Rose gave her Pokemon to the nurse and then turned to sit on a bench. She wasn't feeling very sad anymore. She wasn't feeling much of anything.

After all that had happened, Rose completely forgot about the egg that was in her backpack. She opened the top of her bag and examined it. From what she could tell, it was okay. That was one thing for her to be happy about. She closed the bag and put it aside.

Meghan was a little bummed out as she their trying to rest. They team had gotten beaten down, lost Max again and now the closest things to decent people they knew were getting hunted down. Just as that was playing poorly focused video of the battle was being shown but only parts of it. Just images of bikers moving around in the dust and the flipped over armored cars. All these things were going through her mind as Alice walked up to her.
"Yeah lets go check it out." She said standing up from her seath near the lobby at the entrance.

The two walked together out the door and to the Daycare around the corner. "This must be something new..like the one we saw being built near Pewter."

She said walking into the brand new side building. As they walked in their was pokemon art on the walls and a very nice smell drifting through the air.

Glooms walked passed the two trainers.

"gloom gloom!"

They walked up the counter and pulled out the pokedex.
"Uhh someone paged us to come here." Meghan said putting it down on the counter.

The elderly lady picked it up and plugged it in the computer.

"Oh why well young Miss Megahn. Its says that are now qualify for a brand new program we are running. To encourage trainers to get out there more we are awarding them a gift for their accomplishments. The first question I have is do you have room for an egg?" She asked

The daycare lady brought eggs as rewards for Meg and Alice. Rocky didn't get one and he determined to pick up the pace and catch these two. He went back to the Pokemon center and saw Rose sitting quietly. She looked like she had been crying and had just about given up.

"Hey Rose, That was a horrible battle that we just went through. I want to thank you for fighting beside me. A lot of people would have just ran away. I am glad to have someone as brave as you to fight besides. I am going to try to train up one of my new Pokemon to try to get the Gym-ready. The Ekans sounds like the best bet. Alice walked with Meg to the nearby Daycare Center. "There sure do seem to be a lot of these around," she said when they reached the building. "Pokemon breeding must be popular."

When they arrived at the counter, an elderly lady greeted them. "To encourage trainers to get out there more we are awarding them a gift for their accomplishments," she said. "The first question I have is do you have room for an egg?" she asked.

Meg accepted her egg and Alice stepped forward. "I do have an egg already," she said unsurely. "But I promise I'll take good care of this one too!"

Alice had taken her egg and observed his was almost ready to hatch. Then she commented about it being a smart idea to have wrapped it , she also commented and apologized about being captured. He replied "Thanks I try... Yeah it wasn't too fun, but believe me when I say I didn't go quietly by any means. Skipper and the team faught like warriors, but we were sorrunded like 30 to 3, Marcela is pretty new to battling, so although she tried, I really had to do the brunt of the fighting, they fought really really well, took out atleast 4 grunts... There was just too many. Team Rocket is such a pathetic group, if they need so many people to take a few kids..." he sighed and walked over to Nurse Joy "Hello Nurse Joy, may you heal my pokemon?" he handed the pokeballs to Nurse Joy who gave a solemn expression "They are really beat up... It could be a couple hours" Brandon raised an eyebrow and gave a relucant sigh he said to Nurse Joy "Let me as soon as they are healthy" he couldn't imagine another raid without his team, they trained so hard together, they were best friends. He was thinking about this as the news channels were reporting on their battle... As usual making Team Rocket the good guys, he swore under his breath. Then a breaking news report came in showing the bikers being chased by police, Brandon disgusted, pounded his fists on the counter in frustation. Their only ally.. Out the window! Grrr! He couldn't wait for the day when they are pick a fight with the wrong group... This group, we are going to be stronger and we are going to kick their arses! This was not good. He couldn't risk being caught anywhere without a pokemon team, even if they are not strong, not now when things keep going from bad to worse. He walked towards the pc, he turned it on and deposited a couple of pokemon... Nidoran, Metapod and Mankey. While they were knocked out, they weren't any good for him, he would get them out as soon as they healed. He withdrew Paras and Zubat and Ekans. They would have to do for now.

As he began to walk away, his egg began to hatch.

The weedle hatched and then came out, he noticed the baby was a girl, she looked up at her new trainer curiously, letting out a soft "Wee... Weedle" and began to walk, crawl (like bug crawl not like baby crawling) away. Brandon reached down and picked the baby bug type up, he said to her "Welcome Miss. Weedle, it is pleasure to have you in our world and to have you on our team. He then took out a pokeball and put her in it. He needed to put one more pokemon in the pc. He put Pidgetto in the PC, this was definitelly a temporary move, he would switch them out when the team healed. The back up team wasn't much and needed work, but they were all he had.

He let each of them for the 1st time to meet their trainer. He let out Paras and Ekans 1st, the Paras looked up at Brandon curiously, then went up and rubbed his mushroom like head against his leg, the Ekans hissed, apparently still thinking it was in the encounter that he had been caught in, he stopped suddenly, looked around curiously and retracted his fangs. He seemed to nuteral upon discovering he had been captured and who his trainer was. Then he let out Zubat, the bat pokemon flew out screeching "ZUUUU ZUUBATTT!" then seemed to settle down and hovered in the air over his new trainer's ears, he seemed relaxed and accepting "Hey guys.... Look I know I am new to you and you are new to me, so let me start with a friendly introduction. My name is Brandon, I am trainer, I usually travel with a set team, really good pokemon that love me, love each other and I love them, would do whatever it took to defend me and each other. They are a little exhausted from an extremelly big fight, where we were ambushed, they faught hard, but there was just too many. They have to rest for a few hours. I was hoping you guys could accept me as a partner and trainer and travel alongside me until my team gets better... Try your hardest, you never know, you may end up with a spot on the main team if you get good enough." All the pokemon, including Ekans seemed to be touched by the speech and understood. They all seemed willing to travel alongside him. Even excited. It was going to be a long road ahead... They had some training to do.

With the Egg in hand Meghan smiled. Tidus the totodile stayed close to her. He had just hatched and a quick heal he was good to go. Meghan tried to keep up with all the pokemon she was catching but it was hard.
"Im going to try avoid neglecting you critters. " she smiled.

She looked at Alice
"We get the others and maybe just get some food and relax for the rest of the night."

The sun was starting to set over Cerulean and warm breeze swept through the streets leading tot he center piece of the city the newly designed gym.

Alice followed Meg out of the Daycare, stopping to watch the Gloom for a few seconds on the way out. She had heard that Gloom smelled bad, but she guessed it must have just be a rumour...

"Sounds like a plan to me," Alice smiled. "I didn't even notice but I am starving!"

Alice release Citrus so he could spread his wings a bit. "Good to see you again," Alice said to the butterfly.

"Freee!" he replied as he zoomed about under the rising moon.

"The city sure is peaceful at night. I guess we'll have to go talk to Misty tomorrow," she said, looking at the gym with interest.

"I..." She began, pausing for a moment. "What time is it? I think it's getting late." She responded. "I don't care, I can sense just as well in the dark as in the light, but we probably shouldn't stay out too long." She was happy to be talking to someone. Just a simple conversation like that was enough to make her feel better, even if only by a small amount.

When they had entered the pokemon centre, Marcela remained quiet as usual. She walked up to the counter after everyone else had pretty much finished handing in their pokemon in the queue. "Um excuse me nurse.." she said a little nervously "My pokemon urgently need healing so I was wondering if you could have a look at them please?" The nurse took a look "Oh dear.. yes, the do seem severely hurt, but it shouldn't be anything too serious." said the nurse concerned "I assure you that your pokemon will be fine. However, it make take quite a few hours for them to recover to top shape. So if you will do, please, take a seat over there just on the side. There should be a row of red chairs" the nurse smiled.

Marcela gave a little worried sigh, feeling a bit more relieved as she heard the nurse's comforting words. She then slowly took her seat on the side on one of red chairs. She didn't feel like talking to anyone even though she knew they all went through the same thing. Although being the only new trainer made her feel a little more worse and the fact that she didn't really know the rest of the group all that well except for Brandon, still made her feel a little alone and traumatised by the events she had experienced.

She then slowly turned around as she heard the newflash on the little TV above, showing the bikers driving off leaving a cloud of dust behind and some of the trucks the rockets had were shown to be knocked over. It seemed that the media were portraying them as the bad guys and the rockets as the good guys, but Marcela knew that wasn't the case and she felt angry on the inside about that.

She then heard Brandon and Alice talking for a little but didn't really care to pay much attention as she was still very upset and a little down about all that they had to go through. Having no other pokemon in her PC box as she hadn't caught that many, she decided to paitently wait for her team to be healed as she silently sat there.
