Alice grinned. "Sure is! I'm from Unova, in fact!"

The boy sent out a Tentacool. It's secondary Poison-typing would nullify Aster's Grass advantage.

Alice looked over at Rocky. He seemed to be giving his Pokemon vitamins to bulk them up. She grabbed a Pokeball from her belt. "Good luck!" she called to the boy. "Memento! Let's see what you can do!"

The Mawile appeared in a flash. She looked a bit scared of the Tentacool. "You're immune to Poison types," Alice told her. "Just do your best!"

It was a good battle. Memento had obviously had previous training. She did her best to dodge Tentacool's water attacks, and her immunity to Poison helped her overcome her opponent.

"That was wonderful!" Alice said after the battle. "Our first battle together! You did so well. There was nothing to be afraid of, right?"

"Maww," the Mawile blushed and looked at her feet.

"Take a rest now," Alice said, returning her. "Alright, time to give Tyrunt another turn!"

Alice's opponent sent out a Golbat.

The little rock dino appeared, snorting and snapping his jaws. He locked onto the Golbat immediately, as it flapped in the air.

"You'll need to use long range rock attacks," Alice coached. She wasn't sure if the Tyrunt was listening. Before she could say any more, it sped into battle.
